Sony has announced nine games will be leaving PlayStation Plus in December 2025. While new games—including popular titles like Grand Theft Auto 5, Thank Goodness You’re Here, Pacific Drive, and Tomb Raider: Anniversary—have recently been added for Extra and Premium members, these additions mean some games will be removed next month.
PlayStation Plus recently updated its “Last Chance to Play” list, revealing nine games will be removed in mid-December. The biggest titles leaving the service are Battlefield 2042, Sonic Frontiers, and the remastered Grand Theft Auto 3. Several virtual reality games that work with PlayStation VR headsets are also being removed.
Here’s the full list of departures from PlayStation Plus in December:
- Battlefield 2042 (PS5, PS4)
- Grand Theft Auto 3: The Definitive Edition (PS5, PS4)
- Arcade Paradise VR (PS5)
- Sonic Frontiers (PS5, PS4)
- Forspoken (PS5)
- Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge (PS5)
- Firefighting Simulator: The Squad (PS5, PS4)
- Surviving Mars (PS4)
- Star Trek: Bridge Crew (PS4)
Overall, the games leaving PlayStation Plus aren’t a huge loss and shouldn’t upset most players. Removing Battlefield 2042 is reasonable now that Battlefield 6 is available. GTA 3 is being updated with GTA 5, and the virtual reality games weren’t very popular anyway. These games will no longer be available on PS Plus starting December 16th.
We don’t have the complete list of games coming to PS Plus in December 2025 yet. However, based on past announcements, SoulCalibur 3 is likely to be the main game added to the “Classics” catalog, which is for Premium members only. Sony usually reveals the full lineup of games for the Game Catalog around December 10th, so we can expect the announcement then.
This month, all subscribers can download Stray, WRC 24, and Totally Accurate Battle Simulator for free until December 2nd. After that, a new selection of free games will be available.
