Sony has announced the first game coming to PlayStation Plus in March 2026. While the full list of free games for March hasn’t been revealed yet – that announcement is coming next week – we do know one title is on the way. This new lineup will replace the current free games, which include Undisputed, Subnautica: Below Zero, Ultros, and Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. Before the full lineup is announced, Sony has given PlayStation Plus members a sneak peek at one game joining the Game Catalog next month.
Sony recently announced that Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection will be available on PS Plus starting March 17th. Originally released in 2006, this enhanced version of Tekken 5 first appeared on PSP before being ported to PS3. The version coming to PS Plus is the PSP version, making it the newest game from Sony’s handheld console to be playable on PS5 and PS4.
Since Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection is a PlayStation Portable (PSP) game, it’s being added to the “Classics” section of the PS Plus Game Catalog. This means only PlayStation Plus Premium members will be able to play it. It’s unclear if any other older PlayStation games will be added, but with only one game joining the Classics section recently, it probably won’t happen.
This PS Plus Game Makes a Major Series More Accessible
The addition of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection to PS Plus is significant because it makes this beloved fighting game series even easier to access. Tekken 2, Tekken 3, and Tekken 6 have already been re-released on the PlayStation Store and PS Plus. Now, the only Tekken games not easily playable on PS5 are the very first Tekken and Tekken 4.
Based on previous releases, there’s a good possibility that Tekken and Tekken 4 might be available on current PlayStation consoles in the future. If they are, we’ll share the news here on ComicBook as soon as it happens.
