As a PlayStation Plus member, I feel like it’s super easy to overlook all the free stuff they give you! It’s not just about the monthly games or the titles in the Game Catalog, either. There’s actually a ton of free DLC available right now that you can download, and I almost missed it!
Reddit users have found several freebies currently available, and these appear alongside a major new release for PlayStation Plus this week.
PlayStation Plus Subscribers Can Grab 12 Bonus Freebies
It Lines Up With A New Offering
PlayStation Plus members can currently download 16 DLC packs for Monster Hunter Rise. While most of these are cosmetic items to change the look of your hunter and gear, there are also a few useful in-game items included.
Here is everything you can get for free:
- Bonus Pack 1
- Bonus Pack 2
- Bonus Pack 3
- Bonus Pack 4
- Bonus Pack 5
- Bonus Pack 6
- Velkhana costume
- Hunter voice: Kagami
- DLC 17 hairstyle
- DLC 15 hairstyle
- DLC 16 hairstyle
- Character edit voucher
The free cosmetic DLC is a great addition to Rise, especially since the game already has tons of content and customization options. Once you find what you like on the PlayStation Store, you can stop searching – like most Capcom games, Rise offers a large variety of both free and paid DLC.
Monster Hunter Rise Is Available Today
It Just Hit The Service
Originally launched on the Nintendo Switch in 2021, Monster Hunter Rise became available on other systems soon after. It came to PC in 2022, and then to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in 2023. It’s a highly-rated entry in the Monster Hunter series, and has been expanded with both a major downloadable expansion and plenty of additional content released since launch.
After Rise came Monster Hunter Wilds, planned for release in 2025, but its development has been troubled by technical problems. Because Rise still has a large and active player base, now is a great time to give it a try.
Monster Hunter offers a challenging but rewarding experience for both solo players and small teams. The game automatically adjusts difficulty to ensure a balanced fight, and the core gameplay loop of hunting monsters, collecting materials, and upgrading your gear to take on even bigger challenges remains as engaging as ever.
One player shared on Reddit that Monster Hunter Rise was their first game in the series and really drew them in. They enjoyed Monster Hunter: World on Xbox too, but said Rise was the game that truly made them understand what the series was all about.
If you have PlayStation Plus and haven’t tried it yet, this game is worth checking out. With 14 different weapons, you’re likely to discover a way to play that suits you. Even years after its initial release, there’s still a lot to do, and a friendly community makes finding people to play with easy.
