PlayStation Plus Users Have 72 Hours to Get $170 Worth of PS5 Games for Free

PlayStation Plus members—whether they have the Essential, Extra, or Premium plan—have about 72 hours to claim three free PS5 games worth a total of $170. After that, the games will return to their regular prices. These specific games—normally costing $70, $60, and $20 each—will be replaced with new free titles on February 3rd.

From now until Tuesday, PlayStation Plus members can download and keep three games for free: Need for Speed Unbound, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, and Core Keeper. All three games are available on PS5, and Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed and Core Keeper can also be played on PS4.

Need for Speed Unbound ($70)

Released in 2022, Need for Speed Unbound is the 25th installment in the Need for Speed series and the most recent title. The game, developed by Criterion Games and published by EA, received a Metacritic score of 77 upon its release.

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed ($60)

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a 2024 updated version of the 2010 game Epic Mickey. The original game, a platform adventure, was created by Junction Point Studios and initially released by Disney only for the Nintendo Wii, where it received a score of 73 on Metacritic. This remake was developed by Purple Lamp Studios.

Core Keeper ($20)

I’m really into Core Keeper! It’s a survival sandbox game that finally came out in 2024, though I’ve been following it in early access for a couple of years now. The team at Pugstorm did an amazing job, and Fireshine Games published it. What’s even cooler is that it’s gotten incredible reviews – it’s currently sitting at an 86 on Metacritic, which makes it the best-rated of all the games I’ve been checking out lately.

Okay, so a lot of people seem confused about the free games you get with PlayStation Plus Essential. Basically, if you download them while your PS Plus is active, you get to keep them forever! But here’s the catch: you have to stay subscribed to PS Plus. If you let your subscription lapse, you won’t be able to play those free games until you resubscribe. And just to be clear, these aren’t the same games you find in the PS Plus Extra or Premium tiers. Once the monthly Essential games are no longer offered, you’ll have to buy them if you want to keep playing – no free access through the higher tiers!
