Pokemon Champions In-Game Currency, Coupons, & Tickets, Explained

Pokemon Champions is a new free-to-play game in the Pokemon world. Like many free games, it uses in-game currency that players can earn as they play. While Victory Points are the main currency used to get and train Pokemon, there are also tickets and coupons available. These can unlock certain features instead of using Victory Points, and are earned by completing activities within the game.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed by all the different coupons and ways to get perks in Pokemon Champions. I’m here to simplify things and explain how to unlock features, no matter if you’ve already purchased the Starter Pack or prefer to play for free. This guide will break down the in-game currencies, how to earn them, and what each one lets you do.

How to Earn Victory Points in Pokemon Champions

In Pokemon Champions, Victory Points (VP) are the main currency. You’ll use VP to unlock almost everything in the game, like new Pokemon and items from the shop. These items range from cosmetic changes to helpful items that your Pokemon can hold during battles. If you’re playing for free, you’ll want to carefully save and spend your VP.

Right now, you can’t directly purchase VP within the game. Instead, a paid membership unlocks additional missions and more opportunities to earn VP by playing. Here’s a guide on how to earn VP in Pokemon Champions, regardless of whether you’re a free or paying player.

  • Finish the Double Battles Tutorial in the Battle Menu (1 Time Only award of 10,000 VP)
  • Complete Daily and Weekly Missions
  • Reach Level 31 and Above in the Monthly Battle Pass (500 VP per Level Achieved)
  • Win Ranked Battles (Rewards Scale with Rank)
  • Participate in Ranked Battles (Small Reward for Matches Lost)

All Pokemon Champions Coupons & Ticket Types (And How to Get Them)

As a big fan of Pokemon Champions, I’ve learned that besides Victory Points (VP), there are other ways to unlock stuff in the game! They have these coupons and tickets you can earn just by playing, and the best part is, both free and paying players can get them. I wanted to share what each one does so you know how to use them all!

Quick Coupons

Quick Coupons let you refresh your Recruit lineup faster. The number of coupons you need depends on how much time is left until your next free refresh – it works a bit like the Pack Hourglasses in Pokemon TCG Pocket. If you don’t have any Quick Coupons, you can also use VP to speed things up.

You can earn Quick Coupons in Pokemon Champions in the following ways:

  • Complete the Move Priority, Physical vs. Special Moves, and Status Conditions Battle Tutorials (1 Time Each for 22 Quick Coupons per tutorial)
  • Reach Certain Tiers in the Free or Paid Battle Pass
  • Participate in Online Competitions

Teammate Tickets

These tickets let you add new Pokémon to your team from the Pokémon Ranch without using Virtual Points (VP). Just like Quick Coupons, they allow you to save your VP for other features. Each ticket permanently adds one Pokémon to your team, instead of requiring you to spend VP.

Here are the ways I’ve found to get Teammate Tickets in Pokemon Champions:

  • Complete the Contact vs. Noncontact Moves, Weather Conditions, and Terrains Battle Tutorials (1 Time Each for 1 Teammate Ticket per tutorial)
  • Reach Certain Tiers in the Free or Paid Battle Pass

Training Tickets

Training Tickets let you train your Pokémon instead of using Victory Points. You can use them to change things like Moves or Stats. They seem to be the hardest currency to find in Pokémon Champions when the game starts, but there are a few ways to earn them.

  • Reach Certain Tiers in the Free or Paid Battle Pass
  • Complete Special Membership Missions (Paid Players Only)

Currently, these appear to be the main currencies in Pokemon Champions. You can earn most of them simply by playing, while it looks like most cosmetic items are available through the paid Battle Pass.
