The past week has been busy for Pokemon Go players, with the global Wild Area 2025 event bringing new Shiny Pokemon and powerful creatures to the game. And the excitement isn’t stopping there! A new event begins November 18th, introducing yet another Shiny Pokemon to Pokemon Go. However, like many recent additions, this one will be a challenge to catch.
A Shiny Morpeko will be available in Pokémon Go for the first time starting November 18th as part of the High Voltage event. The event runs from 10 AM to 8 PM local time from November 18th to November 22nd, giving players about a week to find this new Shiny Pokémon. While Shiny Morpeko is the main attraction, it’s expected to be a difficult one to catch. Here’s everything you need to know to increase your chances.
How to Get Shiny Morpeko in Pokemon Go

The Shiny Morpeko will be available starting November 18th, but you won’t be able to find it by simply exploring the map during the High Voltage event. Instead, you’ll need to encounter it through special methods.
- Complete Field Research during the High Voltage Event
- Finish the High Voltage Collection Challenge
- Take Pokemon Go Snapshots for a Potential Morpeko Encounter
- Earn Morpeko as a GO Battle League Reward
As a big Pokémon GO fan, I’m excited about getting Shiny Morpeko! It looks like the first three ways to get it will mostly be during limited-time events, like the High Voltage event happening from November 18th to 22nd. But don’t worry, Morpeko is always available as a reward in the GO Battle League once you hit Rank 16. So, if you miss it during those special events, the GO Battle League is your best and most reliable way to find a Shiny one!
Wild Encounters & Event Bonuses for High Voltage Event in Pokemon Go

While Morpeko is making its first appearance as a Shiny Pokémon in this event, Emolga, Dedenne, and Togedemaru will also be appearing more frequently. Plus, the chances of finding their Shiny forms will be increased, giving you a better opportunity to catch them!
Besides the increased appearances of Emolga, Dedenne, and Togedemaru, the High Voltage event also offers double XP for making Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws, and double Stardust for every Pokémon caught.
During the event, players can complete special Field Research tasks to find different Electric-type Pokémon, including the rare and shiny Morpeko. You’ll receive these tasks by spinning the discs at PokéStops and Gyms, but only if you have space for a new research assignment.
There’s also a special challenge during the event where you collect Electric-type Pokémon. If you complete it, you’ll get a chance to encounter Morpeko, plus earn extra XP and Stardust. Here are the Pokémon you’ll need to catch for the challenge:
- Emolga
- Dedenne
- Pawmi
- Togedemaru
Because of the event bonuses, catching these boosted Pokémon and earning a Morpeko encounter should be fairly easy. Overall, this is a great event for anyone trying to find Shiny versions of Pikachu’s evolutionary relatives in Pokémon Go. While the Shiny Morpeko will be challenging to find, this event offers the best chance to add it to your collection.
