Pokemon Go Is Adding Its First New Mega Evolutions from Legends Z-A (Here’s When You Can Get Them)

Ever since Pokémon fans found out that Pokémon Legends: Z-A would add new Mega Evolutions, they’ve been wondering when those designs would come to Pokémon Go. The mobile game has had Mega Evolutions since 2020, but new ones haven’t been added very often lately. While not all of the new Mega Evolutions in Legends: Z-A were popular, some are really well-designed. Now, Niantic has announced when the first two of these new Mega Evolutions will be available in Pokémon Go.

Okay, so Niantic just announced some awesome news for Pokemon Go! We’re getting Mega Malamar and Mega Victreebel as part of the Kalos Tour stuff. Apparently, they’re the first new Megas from the Legends: Z-A set to hit the game. They’re launching first at the live events in Los Angeles and Taiwan, which is cool for those going, but thankfully they said we’ll all get a chance to get them globally too! I’m starting to prep now so I’m ready when they drop – you should too!

When Mega Malamar and Mega Victreebel Debut In Pokemon Go

Okay, so I’m super excited for the Pokemon Go Kalos Tour! If I’m going to the live event in either LA or Tainan, I get to battle and catch Mega Malamar and Mega Victreebel a bit before everyone else. They’re actually launching early at those events on February 20th! And the best part? They’ll both be available as Shiny Pokemon right from the start, which is awesome!

If you couldn’t make it to a live Pokémon Go Tour event this year, don’t worry – you won’t have to wait too long! The Pokémon Go Tour: Kalos – Global event is happening February 28th through March 1st. This is when Mega Malamar and Mega Victreebel will become available worldwide, giving players without in-person tickets their first chance to catch these new Pokémon.

During the Pokémon Go Tour: Kalos event, both new Mega Pokémon will be available in Raids for both the in-person and online participants. You’ll need to work with others to defeat them and collect Mega Energy, which is used to Mega Evolve your Malamar and Victreebel.

Confirmed Shiny Debuts for Pokemon Go Tour: Kalos (So Far)

Here’s the newest update for Pokémon Go Tour: Kalos! This year’s event will introduce Shiny Diancie through a new Masterwork Research quest. However, you’ll need to purchase a ticket for either the live event or the global online event to access this research and a guaranteed chance to encounter Shiny Diancie.

Trainers can expect to see not only Shiny Diancie, but three other Pokémon making their Shiny debuts during the Kalos Go Tour! Niantic has confirmed that Shiny Honedge, Shiny Hawlucha, and Shiny Klefki will appear in both the in-person and global events. You’ll find Honedge in One-Star Raids, while Hawlucha and Klefki will be available by hatching 10KM eggs. These eggs will also have an increased chance of hatching a Shiny version of either Pokémon.

The Pokemon Go Tour: Kalos event is happening in just under a month, and it looks like it will be a fun experience for players both in person and around the world.
