Finding Shiny Pokemon is a significant aspect that makes Pokemon Go so attractive to many gamers. When a fresh Shiny is launched or becomes more accessible, it’s a significant event for numerous players. This week saw the start of a new event, and the game has introduced a Shiny version that wasn’t previously seen in Pokemon Go. The ongoing Cozy Companions event runs until Tuesday, August 12th at 8 p.m., local time. During this event, players now have a possibility of encountering Shiny Tandemaus within the game. But, some players might think twice before spending the time needed to find it.
In the year 2022, Tandemaus made its debut in the video games Pokemon Scarlet and Violet for Nintendo Switch. Since then, this adorable creature has won over many fans due to its appealing design. However, the Shiny variant of Tandemaus has not received the same level of appreciation from players because it is challenging to distinguish in the wild during gameplay. The main distinction lies in the fur on the two mice – one usually sports a light gray patch resembling a shirt, while the other has a light gray patch that looks like pants. In the Shiny version, this coloring changes to cream, and unless you really strain your eyes, it can be hard to spot the difference.

In the world of Pokémon Go, identifying a Shiny Tandemaus might prove slightly less challenging due to its unique appearance in the catch screen. Unlike Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the shiny form’s transformation occurs only on this screen. When you come across a Shiny Tandemaus during the catching process, you’ll certainly take notice once it sparkles. Nevertheless, fans of Pokémon Go who haven’t played Scarlet and Violet might be underwhelmed if they do manage to find a Shiny Tandemaus, as its color scheme for shiny Pokémon is considered one of the more subdued options. And when Tandemaus evolves into Maushold, the shininess doesn’t significantly improve in terms of visual appeal.
During the “Cozy Companions” event in Pokemon Go, there will be a higher probability of coming across Tandemaus. You won’t find this Pokemon roaming around normally, but it will show up more often through Party Play during this specific event. However, Niantic hasn’t adjusted the Shiny encounter rate. While this might not seem significant considering the relative weakness of the Shiny version, it’s still something to bear in mind.
In summary, the Cozy Companions event in Pokemon Go might not be one of our strongest events. Alongside introducing Shiny Tandemaus, the game has also included Snom and Frosmoth, but getting these creatures requires a substantial amount of time. Snom can only be acquired through Egg Hatches, and it needs 400 Candies to evolve into Frosmoth. This aspect has led to quite a bit of aggravation for fans. However, the good news is that August offers numerous in-game events for players to engage with. If Cozy Companions doesn’t appeal to you, there are other enjoyable activities coming up in Pokemon Go that you won’t have to wait long for.
