Since *Pokemon Go* launched, players have had limited options for earning Poke Coins, the game’s currency used for things like extra storage, items, and Incubators. Usually, the only dependable way to get Poke Coins is to purchase them with real money. For a long time, players who don’t spend money on the game have requested more ways to earn Poke Coins. Recent information suggests the October Go Pass might offer a new earning opportunity, at least for the next month.
Okay, so for ages, the main way I’ve been getting extra Poke Coins is by sticking my Pokemon in gyms. The longer they hold out before getting beaten, the more coins I get back. But there’s a daily limit, which is kinda annoying. It doesn’t matter if I have tons of Pokemon defending or just one – I can only earn a certain amount each day. I’ve even had Pokemon, like my Vaporeon, just sitting in some random rural gym for months! It’s a long-standing problem, but I just saw a leak that the October Pokemon Go Pass might finally add a new way to get those sweet, sweet Poke Coins!
Pokemon Go October Go Pass Leak Suggests Players Could Earn Up to 400 Free Poke Coins Next Month
A recent image posted by the Pokemon Go news account Furianocturna Go may give us a first look at the October Go Pass. This pass, which was recently added to Pokemon Go, lets players complete monthly challenges to earn rewards. There’s a free version and a paid version (Premium), with the paid option offering more valuable rewards. However, if this leak is accurate, even the free October Go Pass could include a significant number of Poke Coins for players.

Furianocturna Go is a Spanish-language *Pokemon Go* account, meaning we had to translate the information they shared. One reward mentioned for October immediately stood out: the chance to earn 400 Poke Coins. If this is accurate, it’s a much better deal than how players have typically earned Poke Coins in the past.
Okay, so even if this information is right, it looks like we’ll probably have to complete a bunch of tasks to actually get the full 400 Poke Coins. That means some of us free-to-play trainers might not earn them all before the month is over. Still, everyone seems really hyped about the possibility of this bigger reward next month, and I definitely am too!

Okay, so there’s a rumor going around, and honestly, it’s starting to feel pretty legit. Some people testing out the new Pokemon Go Pass actually saw Poke Coins as possible rewards! It definitely seems like Niantic was thinking about adding them to the battle pass at some point. We don’t know for sure if it’ll happen in October, or if it’ll be 400 coins like the leak says, but we’re all waiting for Niantic to officially confirm things. I’m really hoping it’s true!
Getting 400 free Coins is great news for players. But many are also pointing out that the Premium Pass offers a really good deal. If you can earn 1400 Poke Coins through the Premium track, it significantly lowers the cost of the coins to around $8. Plus, the coins aren’t the only benefit – you also get other rewards, like a chance to battle the Legendary Pokémon, Terrakion.
We should find out what’s included in the October Go Pass for *Pokémon Go* shortly, as the new pass will probably become available around the beginning of October. Considering the September pass launched on October 7th, the October pass might not be available until a few days into the month. However, since September’s pass included a Timed Incubator, we can expect another new item or feature with the October release.
