Pokemon Go Players Convinced These Two Pokemon Don’t Actually Exist

In Pokémon Go, it can be quite challenging to find certain Pokémon. There are regional Pokémon, legendary ones that are hidden within tough raids, and many others that appear infrequently. Completing a Pokédex is almost an insurmountable goal. Matters get even more difficult when some of them seem to not exist in the game at all.

Two new Pokémon from the Paldea region, recently added to the Pokédex, have been proving elusive and hard to locate by players. Many have taken to online platforms to express their frustration as these two creatures occasionally appear on the nearby radar with a shadowy silhouette but remain invisible for most gamers.

Pokémon Go Players Bemoan Lack of Toedscool and Wiglett Spawns

In the Paldean region update (Generation 9), new Pokémon such as Meowscarada, Skeledirge, and Quaxly were added to Pokémon Go. Additionally, Toedscruel and Wiglett were introduced. Interestingly, while these two are regional variations of other Pokémon, they don’t follow the exact pattern seen in an Alolan Raichu, for instance. Instead, they exhibit differences but maintain a striking similarity to their original counterparts.

Despite numerous complaints from Reddit users, including u/ShaneH1990 who expressed frustration about spending hours searching for Wiglett and Toedscool near the river with no success, the event has garnered nearly 3,000 upvotes, suggesting widespread disappointment among players.

Many users concurred with this thought. User LeprecaunJon stated, “I wasn’t aware Wiglett on the right was supposed to be obtainable.” Additionally, another user mentioned they haven’t encountered a Toedscool in the game yet.

A significant number of complaints were focused on the biome feature in the game. It appears that a large number of Water-type Pokémon tend to appear near water sources. Specifically, Wiglett is mostly found at beaches, making it challenging for players to locate them if they’re not close to any beaches. In some cases, players might be far from suitable locations for finding these Pokémon, which somewhat contradicts the game’s goal of using real-world environments. Sometimes, this can lead to unintended consequences, and it seems that instance is occurring here.

User u/Learned_Hand_01 reported an issue with the golf course biome not functioning correctly as expected. According to their description, they pass by a golf course daily that features a swimming pool and a beach background, yet it doesn’t seem to produce Wigletts or display any noticeable effects of being a distinct biome at all.

Discussions arose among players about possible solutions for this predicament, such as figuring out which local regions correspond to specific biomes, thus identifying areas where Toedscool or Wiglett could be found. It seemed nearly every one of the approximately 500 comments agreed: these two Pokémon are so scarce that they might as well not exist at all.

After the ongoing event that some users found unproductive ends, it may become more challenging to locate those specific creatures, as they were appearing due to the event. However, their appearance won’t be permanent, so this could be your last opportunity to catch a Toedscool or Wiglett if you manage to do so.
