In-person events are planned for Tokyo, Chicago, and Copenhagen. Plus, Pokemon Go is now offering a contest where a handful of fans can win a free, all-expenses-paid trip to Go Fest.

Niantic recently announced a #GOMemories sweepstakes! In a video, Pokemon Go is asking players to share their favorite memories from the past 10 years of the game. If you share your memories using the right hashtags, you could win a free trip to a Pokemon Go Fest event later this year. #GOMemories Sweepstakes Celebrates 10 Years of Pokemon Go

Pokémon Go Fest is a large annual event where players can come together and celebrate the mobile game. This year’s in-person events are scheduled for late May and early June, starting in Tokyo, followed by events in Chicago and Copenhagen. While details are still limited, the event is expected to be significant as it takes place just before the game’s 10-year anniversary on July 6th.

This is the first large-scale sweepstakes Niantic has ever run, offering a few Pokémon Go fans the chance to win a free trip to a major in-person event. The announcement video is a nostalgic look back at past events and how Pokémon Go has evolved over the years. It highlights additions like Pokémon Buddies and Shadow Raids, reminding players just how much the game has changed since its launch in the summer of 2016.

Basically, you can share your favorite Pokémon Go memories for a chance to win. Just be aware that the deadline to enter depends on which Go Fest you’re hoping to attend. Here’s when you need to submit your entry for each one:

  • Tokyo: Enter by March 22nd by 11:59 PM PT
  • Chicago: Enter by April 5th at 11:59 PM PT
  • Copenhagen: Enter by April 30th at 11:59 PM PT

Several winners will be chosen from each city. There will be 4 prizes awarded in Tokyo, and 5 each in Chicago and Copenhagen. To enter the contest, follow the official Pokémon Go accounts on TikTok or X. Then, share a photo or video responding to the prompts, using the hashtags #GOMemories and #Sweepstakes. Don’t forget to tag the Pokémon Go accounts, as they may share your entry!
