As we approach the start of a new month on August 5th at 10 a.m. local time, fans of Pokemon Go are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the new Go Pass and Go Pass Deluxe from Niantic. Some of the rewards for these passes have been unveiled, with one particularly exciting feature being that players can encounter the Legendary Bird Moltres once they reach rank 100. While it’s not entirely unexpected since Zapdos is currently available in the current Go Pass, this should still be welcome news for those who haven’t yet added the Fire/Flying-type Pokemon to their collection. Moltres will feature a special background, and there’s even a chance you might come across a Shiny version of it.
Apart from Moltres, the regular Go Pass offers various perks like Poke Balls, Stardust, Experience Points (XP), Max Particles, and Candy for different Pokemon. The premium version, called Go Pass Deluxe, priced at $7.99, provides extra rewards. In August, the Go Pass Deluxe will offer additional incentives such as a Lucky Trinket, a Super Incubator, increased Pokemon encounters, and more. Regardless of which tier of Go Pass you choose, there are distinct milestone rewards in store for players this August. Once reaching rank 25, players will earn 50% extra XP when boosting Friendship levels. At rank 50, the XP and Stardust from Research Breakthrough rewards will be amplified. Lastly, at rank 75, there will be an enhancement in XP and Stardust earned from Egg Hatches.
For gamers aiming to reach rank 100 before the Go Pass expires, there’s also the Go Pass Deluxe +10 Rank, priced at $9.99. This ticket grants an immediate boost of 10 ranks. You can grab this offer directly from the in-game store. However, purchasing it from the game’s online store offers additional one-time benefits such as Ultra Balls and Max Potions.
Earlier this year, the Lucky Charm was incorporated into Pokemon Go. This charm enables trainers to establish a Lucky Friendship with another player, given they have at least a Great Friend status in the game. It’s quite a beneficial item for that purpose, but those who purchase the Go Premium Deluxe package will need to advance to level 100 before acquiring it. Niantic seems intent on keeping this item somewhat elusive.
The Go Pass is valid until September 2nd at 10 a.m., local time. But don’t worry, Pokemon Go players have until September 4th at the same time to collect any rewards they’ve already earned. Interestingly, September 2nd marks the start of a new season in Pokemon Go. At present, Niantic has kept quiet about the theme for the upcoming season, but we can expect some updates within the coming weeks.
