Pokémon Go reveals big new feature after celeb-stuffed Super Bowl trailer

Super Bowl LXI has finished, and while Seattle Seahawks fans are thrilled with their victory, Pokémon Go players have a separate reason to celebrate.

The Super Bowl is famous for more than just the game and halftime performance; it’s also well-known for its commercials, which cost companies millions of dollars for just a few seconds of airtime.

This year, Pokémon launched a star-studded advertisement—backed by a significant budget—to reveal a new feature for Pokémon Go. The ad featured celebrities sharing their favorite Pokémon.

Pokémon Go is getting a new feature called ‘What’s Your Favourite?’ which allows players to capture and share special moments with their beloved Pokémon.

You can choose your favorite Pokémon and take a picture with it, even if you haven’t already found it in the game.

You can select how you want your Pokémon to appear in the photo, and then personalize it with stickers and frames.

A new ‘What’s Your Favourite?’ Special Research story has also been added to the game.

With the new feature, players can earn rewards just by taking a photo with their favorite Pokémon. Once they log in, they’ll get a chance to battle Gengar, receive 100 PokéCoins, and snag some free in-game items.

The ‘What’s Your Favourite’ campaign is part of the celebrations for Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. This year marks 30 years since the original Pokémon games were released in 1996.

The Super Bowl commercial included appearances by Lady Gaga, Trevor Noah, and Charles Leclerc, each sharing a favorite Pokémon. While most of their choices were fairly predictable, Lamine Yamal stood out – he might be the only person on Earth who actually likes Zygarde!
