
Niantic recently announced the first Mega Evolutions coming to Pokemon Go during the Kalos Go Tour event. Go Tour is a major annual event for the game, and this year’s is already shaping up to be great. Now, Pokemon Go has unveiled details for what could be its largest event leading up to a Go Tour yet. Called the “Road to Kalos” event, it will happen before the global Go Tour and will feature returning Pokemon from all regions.
Niantic has announced a special event called “Road to Kalos” to build excitement for the upcoming Pokemon Go Tour: Kalos – Global. The event will run from February 23rd at 10 AM local time until February 27th at 11:59 PM local time, leading directly into the main Kalos Tour on February 28th. Players can look forward to new Pokemon with special costumes, as well as the return of Pokemon from previous Tour events, including challenging Raid battles with Legendary Pokemon. New Costumed Pokemon Debuts during the Road to Kalos Event in Pokemon Go

If you’re someone who collects every costumed Pokémon in Pokémon Go, you’ll want to clear some space on your device! The Pokémon Go Road to Kalos event is introducing four new costumed Pikachu that will be appearing for the first time during the event.
- Pikachu in Red’s hat
- Pikachu in Leaf’s hat
- Pikachu in Ethan’s hat
- Pikachu in Lyra’s hat
Good news for anyone hunting Shiny Pokémon! These new Pikachu costumes are available in their Shiny forms in Pokémon Go. You’ll be able to find them in One-Star Raids during the event, and they’ll also appear as rewards for completing Timed and Field Research tasks.
Featured Wild Encounters During Pokemon Go Road to Kalos
The Road to Kalos event will feature Pokémon from previous Go Tour events, with a different region highlighted each day. This means the Pokémon you find in the wild will change daily. Here’s the schedule of which Pokémon will be appearing each day:
February 23rd: Kanto
The following Kanto Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild:
- Bulbasaur
- Charmander
- Squirtle
- Clefairy
- Meowth
- Pikachu
February 24th: Johto
The following Gen 2 Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild:
- Chikorita
- Cyndaquil
- Totodile
- Hoppip
- Marill
- Teddiursa
February 25th: Hoenn
You’ll have a better chance of finding these Pokémon, first found in the Hoenn region, in the wild now.
- Mudkip
- Treecko
- Torchic
- Nincada
- Poochyena
- Taillow
February 26th: Sinnoh
These Pokemon from the Sinnoh region will spawn in the wild more frequently:
- Chimchar
- Piplup
- Turtwig
- Bidoof
- Shinx
- Snover
February 27th: Unova
The following Unovan Pkemon will appear in the wild more often:
- Oshawott
- Snivy
- Tepig
- Darumaka
- Gothita
- Lillipup
All the special Pokémon appearing during the Road to Kalos event have the chance of being Shiny. This is a great opportunity to find those elusive Shiny Pokémon and complete your collection!

During the Pokemon Go Road to Kalos event, trainers can battle Pokemon in both One-Star and Five-Star Raids. The Pokemon appearing in these Raids will change each day, just like the Pokemon found in the wild, to match the featured region. Here’s the schedule of Raid battles for the event:

Bonuses & Additional Details for Pokemon Go Road to Kalos

During this event, you’ll find Raids, special Wild Encounters, and some helpful bonuses! Eggs placed in incubators will hatch at half the usual distance, and you’ll be able to use up to 30 Remote Raid Passes.
