Despite Ash Ketchum and Pikachu no longer being the main characters in the Pokemon anime, the new duo, Liko and Roy, have managed to hold their own against their predecessors. Although they haven’t aimed for the world championship title yet, they’ve faced numerous one-of-a-kind obstacles throughout their journey. In an unexpected turn of events, the current Japanese series suggests the appearance of a Pokemon evolution that could offer a fresh perspective on Dragonite.
In recent times, Japan has been airing new episodes of “Pokémon Horizons” almost every week. On the other hand, North America has been catching up due to the availability of the anime on Netflix. As the West continues to follow suit, the East has already provided a sneak peek into what’s next in the upcoming “Pokémon” animated series episode 107, titled “Mega Voltage.” Excited fans are speculating that this could potentially introduce a Mega Evolution for Dragonite. The synopsis for the upcoming episode is given below.
Embarking on a daring mission, I sneak into the Explorers’ secret lair, but my luck runs out as I’m unexpectedly caught and taken prisoner! In this precarious predicament, my savior Roy comes to the rescue, determined to free me. However, our escape is thwarted by Rubella and Indy blocking our path. Facing these Pokémon empowered by the Strong Sphere proves challenging, but just when things seem hopeless, Ult’s Dragonite makes its grand entrance!

The Mega Evolution
In the world of Pokémon, starting with Pokémon X and Y, certain pocket monsters have gained the ability to transform into incredibly powerful new forms. So far, this transformation power has been seen in characters like Charizard, Blastoise, Mewtwo, Gengar, Scizor, and numerous others. Coming up this October 16th on the Nintendo Switch, Pokémon Legends: Z-A promises even more of these transformations. It’s possible that we might witness Dragonite’s transformation in the anime series before it appears in the game version, potentially a few weeks earlier.
Regarding “Pokemon Horizons“, a significant number of Japanese episodes are still unreleased in North America. At the moment, Netflix hosts approximately fifty-six episodes. The release of additional episodes for this platform is yet to be announced, but given the anime’s success on Netflix so far, it’s expected that there will be more installments made available to Western viewers.
If you’re an Ash fan, eagerly waiting for his potential return to the series after winning the world championship, don’t worry as the creators have hinted that they haven’t ruled out a comeback for our champion. Although nothing is finalized yet, the prospect of Ash and Pikachu reappearing would undoubtedly create a massive anime spectacle. Given their extended absence from the show, this return would be particularly noteworthy.
