Excitedly, I can barely contain my anticipation as a diehard Pokémon fan, knowing that we’re just a few short months away from the release of Pokemon Legends Z-A. As the latest addition to the beloved franchise, The Pokémon Company is pulling out all the stops to create buzz and celebrate its arrival. Most recently, the Pokemon TCG introduced a new Mega Evolution set, perfectly timing megas’ return to the card game for the upcoming Legends Z-A. Now, it’s Pokemon Unite‘s turn to join the fun. In honor of its four-year anniversary celebration, this Pokémon MOBA will be incorporating crossover content from Legends Z-A as part of the festivities.
The video game “Pokemon Unite” is set to mark its fourth birthday on July 21st, but the festivities are commencing early! The “Pokemon Unite” 4th anniversary event kicks off on July 18th, bringing in fresh Unite licenses, an Anniversary Cake Challenge, and a plethora of freebies for players. From July 18th, players can embark on the Daily Missions related to the Anniversary Event, with four new missions being added each day. To add to this, daily anniversary gift boxes will contain frosting to help you accumulate special rewards at a quicker pace.
Starting this coming Friday, July 18th, we’ll be commemorating the 4th anniversary of Pokemon UNITE! Join us in the festivities with fresh Pokémon introductions, a new Battle Pass, and much more. Additionally, for a limited period, you can secure a free Gyarados Unite License!

As a passionate gamer of Pokemon Unite, I can’t help but get excited about the new Pokemon licenses! The anniversary event is not just about free rewards; it’s about the thrill of these new additions. And speaking of new, Latios is making his debut during the event, which runs from July 18th to August 7th. Players can engage in a tile mission board to earn a license for this legendary Pokemon. But let me tell you, Latios is merely the tip of the iceberg. In the spirit of our game’s 4th anniversary, The Pokemon Company has announced that a Pokemon Legends Z-A tie-in is coming soon. And guess what that means? More Megas in Unite!
More Megas Are Coming to Pokemon Unite as 1st Pokemon Legends Z-A Celebration
Today, it was disclosed that Pokemon Unite will be incorporating several Pokemon capable of Mega Evolution into the game. In a statement about these upcoming features, The Pokemon Company has indicated that “Mega Evolution will play a significant role in combat” in Pokemon Legends Z-A. Consequently, introducing new and returning Mega-Evolving Pokemon to Pokemon Unite is an appropriate way to mark both the game’s anniversary and the debut of the new title.
At present, Mewtwo is the sole Pokemon in Unite capable of Mega Evolving as both Mewtwo X and Mewtwo Y. However, this could soon change, as The Pokemon Company has announced plans to introduce additional licenses for Pokemon that can undergo Mega Evolution. These new licenses will coincide with the release of Pokemon Legends Z-A.
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve been eagerly waiting for the specific launch date of those Mega Evolution licenses, but alas, The Pokemon Company hasn’t spilled the beans just yet. We’re all guessing which Mega Evolutions might make an appearance, and there are plenty of theories floating around. For now, they’ve only hinted that more information will be unveiled at a later time. Some fans believe these licenses could sync up with the October release of Pokemon Legends Z-A, but it’s also possible they might arrive sooner. So, I’m keeping my fingers crossed and staying tuned for further updates!
It’s been hinted that the upcoming game “Legends Z-A” might unveil fresh Mega evolutions as well as reintroduce old ones, which has sparked enthusiasm among fans about possible new Megas appearing in “Pokemon Unite”. It’s probable that the new licenses for “Pokemon Unite” will center on Pokemon from “Legends Z-A”, but whether these will be brand new or returning Megas is yet to be determined. Regardless, the prospect of Megas joining “Pokemon Unite” promises an intriguing twist for fans to anticipate.
