Developer Game Freak and Nintendo continue to unveil bits and pieces of the upcoming game Pokémon Legends: Z-A. In a recent update, they shared two brand new videos featuring Mega Malamar – an evolved form of the Pokémon Malamar. You can watch these videos below.
In the opening clip, we witness Mega Malamar’s impressive performance against formidable foes such as Charizard and Dragonite, effortlessly vanquishing them using its hypnosis abilities. The video concludes with an intriguing twist: the trainer controlling Mega Malamar becomes hypnotized, perceiving their entire Pokémon team as Malamars instead.
The second video is longer and presents a fictional news broadcast from Lumiose City, where it’s revealed that Malamar is becoming very popular. This live-action clip explains why residents are so enamored with this Pokémon, particularly highlighting its hypnotic abilities. The story also tells of a trainer who carelessly released Malamar into the city to demonstrate its powers, causing quite a stir.
In Lumiose City, certain residents are being drawn towards Malamar, one of them being an artist who’s been producing elaborate and opulent artworks centered around Malamar, while a taxi driver has become so captivated that he adorns himself with plush toys modeled after the Pokémon. The taxi driver was recorded saying in a video, “With Malamar behind me, no job is impossible.
As a devoted Pokémon fan, I can’t help but reminisce about the fascinating journey of Malamar. This remarkable creature made its grand entrance in the sixth generation of our beloved franchise, which unfolded with the release of Pokémon X and Y in 2013, and concluded with Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire the following year.
Intriguingly, Malamar is a Dark/Psychic dual-type Pokémon, who patiently waits for evolution at level 30, having started life as Inkay. And here’s an exciting tidbit – Malamar will be able to undergo Mega Evolution for the very first time in the upcoming adventure, Pokémon Legends: Z-A!
In July, Game Freak introduced an intriguing concept for Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Rogue Mega Evolutions. This feature is presented as a peculiar occurrence where certain wild Pokémon within Lumiose City undergo a frenzied state and Mega Evolve. The game’s objective involves players preventing these Mega Evolved Pokémon, whose uncontrolled power could potentially threaten the city’s safety, from causing chaos.
As a diehard fan, I eagerly watched the latest trailer for “Pokémon Legends: Z-A” unveiled in August. This time, the spotlight was on multiplayer features! Excitingly, the game’s Battle Club and Link Battle systems now allow for heated battles among up to four Pokémon trainers, transforming each encounter into a free-for-all competition.
The game titled “Pokémon Legends: Z-A” is set to release on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16. You can pre-order this exciting title now! In addition, Nintendo has announced a special bundle which includes “Pokémon Legends: Z-A” along with a brand new Nintendo Switch 2. Priced at $499.99, the package comes complete with a digital code for the game and mirrors the price of the “Mario Kart World” Switch 2 bundle that was offered upon the console’s launch.
