In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you earn Ticket Points by winning battles against trainers in Battle Zones during the nightly Z-A Royale event. These points fill a progress bar, and once it’s full, you’ll receive a Challenger’s Ticket, which lets you participate in ranked Promotion Matches.
This guide for Pokémon Legends: Z-A focuses on earning Ticket Points as fast and effectively as possible.
Z-A Royale Nightly Event
In this Pokemon battle royale, you’ll face trainer after trainer, earning Ticket Points with each win. The stronger the opponent – ranked by letter, with ‘X’ being weaker than ‘W’, for example – the more points you’ll get. As you improve your own rank, you’ll need increasingly more Ticket Points to unlock new challenges.
You can only earn enough Ticket Points each night to unlock one Challenger’s Ticket for your current rank. Any points you earn beyond that won’t be saved for the next day.
As you play, you’ll sometimes earn bonus cards as rewards for winning battles. These cards give you challenges to complete during fights, like surprising your opponent before they see you. Completing these challenges earns you both Ticket Points and Prize Medals, with a particularly large reward in Ticket Points – often over 100! The challenges are generally simple to achieve.
While exploring Battle Zones, you’ll find glowing blue challenge cards. You can have up to three active challenges at once. If you find more, you can discard one to make room. It’s a good idea to discard a challenge if you don’t have a Pokémon that’s strong against the required type or status effect.
Farming Strategy Tips
To get the most out of the evening event, here are a few helpful tips and tricks.
Don’t bother trying to be sneaky unless a challenge specifically tells you to. It’ll just slow you down without any benefit. Instead, if you have a powerful team, rush into battle and finish it quickly.
Instead of navigating a complex world to find your opponents, just teleport directly to the next Battle Zone.
While the world is paused during combat, take the opportunity to recover your health and get ready for the next fight. Ideally, you should already be set up for a final attack before you finish the battle.
The game pauses while you collect your rewards after a battle, letting you take time to choose your next goal.
You don’t really need to sneak, but if you do, always use cover. The game’s stealth system only focuses on whether enemies can see you, not hear you. This means you can actually run right up to an enemy as long as they’re not looking at you.
The game won’t register your own Pokémon when it’s looking for things, but enemy Pokémon can see you.
Make sure your team has a wide range of moves, both attacking and support-based, to handle any situation. This is particularly helpful for completing battle challenge cards, which give you a lot of Ticket Points and reduce the need to fight many regular trainers.
Keep an eye out for the battle challenge card that lets you instantly defeat unaware opponents with your first attack! It’s worth 1200 Ticket Points and 120 Prize Medals.
These strategies will almost guarantee a high success rate in the Z-A Royale Battle Zones.
Those are the best ways to grind for Ticket Points in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
