Pokémon Legends: Z-A is finally available, and the second season of Ranked Battles has begun! Here’s a guide to everything you need to know about the new season, including the release date, what’s changed, and the rewards you can earn.

If you’ve completed your Pokédex, caught all the Legendary Pokémon, and mastered Mega Evolutions, ranked battles are a fantastic way to test your skills. The ranked system is open to everyone, with different tiers for players of all levels.

Playing ranked battles is a fun way to keep busy while we wait for the Pokémon Legends: Z-A DLC! Hopefully, Game Freak can fix some of the problems with the new game during this time.

But, as for all things Pokémon Legends Z-A season 2, let’s get to it!

When is the Pokémon Legends Z-A season 2 release date?

The Pokémon Legends Z-A season 2 release date is Thursday 6th November 2025 at 6am GMT.

The second season of Ranked Battles in Pokémon Legends Z-A will last for three weeks, ending on November 26th, 2025, at 5:59 AM GMT. Players will have that time to battle and climb the ranks.

Starting November 26th, Season 3 will begin, offering players a fresh opportunity to compete and win prizes.

What to expect from Pokémon Legends Z-A season 2

So, Pokémon Legends Z-A is shaking up Ranked Battles! Season 2 is going to be wild – it’s four-player free-for-alls now, lasting three minutes each. Basically, I’ll be battling three other trainers at once, and it’s gonna be a global competition, so I’ll be up against players from all over the world!

Before starting a battle, you’ll need to build a team of three Pokémon. Choose your Pokémon from your storage boxes, and press the X button twice to set your Battle Team. If you want to use Pokémon that are currently in your party, move them to your boxes first by selecting them and pressing X.

As you compete, you will go up in rank, of which there are 26, ranging from Z to A.

You’ll get rewards like Mega Stones, experience candies, and other helpful items. Players who achieve S rank will also receive a Delphoxite, which allows them to Mega Evolve their Delphox into Mega Delphox.

Once you achieve rank Y, you’ll get a Greninjite Mega Stone, allowing you to Mega Evolve your Greninja.
