The makers, including The Pokemon Company, Game Freak, and Koei Tecmo, have unveiled a new game titled “Pokemon Pokopia” for the Nintendo Switch 2. The game is set to release in spring 2026, and it will be available both physically and digitally. Pre-orders for the digital version can be made starting November 12.
Here is an overview of the game, via The Pokemon Company:
2026 sees the arrival on Nintendo Switch 2 of “Pokemon Pokopia,” a game developed by koei tecmo games. In this life simulation title, players have the chance to build their own idyllic Pokemon haven. The unique protagonist in this game is Ditto, who has taken on a human form. As Ditto, players can traverse the world and pick up skills from friendly Pokemon they encounter – such as learning Bulbasaur’s Leafage to nurture greenery or Squirtle’s Water Gun to rejuvenate parched plants, thus enhancing their abilities and crafting a welcoming environment that attracts a diverse array of Pokemon.
In this game, called “Pokemon Pokopia”, players get to construct their own Pokemon communities from the ground up. They can gather resources, craft furniture, cultivate crops, and build homes for Pokemons. This creates an engaging, leisurely lifestyle where players and their Pokemon reside together. Over time, as players progress, they can create and expand their very own town, welcoming visiting friends (human or Pokemon) to share in the experience. Additionally, this game includes a day-night cycle synchronized with real-world time, varying weather conditions, and diverse in-game locations each with unique traits.
