Pokemon TCG Pocket Adds More Megas with New Crimson Blaze Expansion Coming Next Week

Just as players were expecting a pause in new releases, Pokemon TCG Pocket announced that new booster packs will arrive in December. DeNA recently revealed a trailer for the upcoming set, scheduled to launch on December 17th. This release is a Themed Booster pack, meaning there will be a single pack design and a smaller number of new cards. However, it’s the second release in the B series and gives players another chance to open packs in Pokemon TCG Pocket.

The new Crimson Blaze expansion for the Pokemon Trading Card Game launches on December 16th at 10 PM Pacific Time (1 AM Eastern Time on December 17th). While the expansion focuses on Mega Charizard Y ex, it also includes Mega Venusaur ex and Mega Blastoise ex, plus updated artwork for many other Pokemon. Here’s a rundown of everything known about this Pokemon TCG Pocket expansion so far.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Crimson Blaze Trailer & Confirmed Card List (So Far)

With the announcement of the new Pokemon TCG Pocket expansion, Crimson Blaze, comes a brand-new trailer. You can watch the official trailer below to get a sneak peek at the upcoming card designs.

The latest trailer reveals new cards featuring the original Kanto starters – Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle – timed with the release of their Mega ex cards. However, Kanto Pokémon aren’t the only ones getting new Pokémon TCG Pocket cards in the Crimson Blaze expansion. Here’s a complete list of all the cards confirmed to appear in the trailer.

  • Bulbasaur
  • Charmander
  • Squirtle
  • Solosis
  • Trubbish (Full Illustration)
  • Clemont (Support Card)
  • Serena (Support Card)
  • Quick-Grow Extract (Item)
  • Ditto
  • Sunflora
  • Spritzee
  • Mega Venusaur ex
  • Mega Blastoise ex
  • Mega Charizard & ex

Each new Themed Booster contains around 70 to 75 standard cards, plus 18 to 24 secret cards. This means you can expect to see some cards in this new booster that weren’t shown in the trailer. The new booster, called Crimson Blaze, is labeled B1a. It’s the 7th Themed Booster Pack released for Pokemon TCG Pocket, and the first in the B series.

A new set of collectible cards is coming to Pokemon TCG Pocket, and with it, players can look forward to fresh card covers and backdrops in the game’s shop. These designs will feature Mega Charizard Y and will be available starting December 31st, 2025.

There’s only about a week left to get Mega Rising packs before the new Themed Booster comes out. If you’re trying to finish collecting the set, now’s a good time to add the cards you need to your wishlist in Pokemon TCG Pocket to use the sharing feature. This is expected to be the final booster release of 2025, and we can likely expect the next one around mid-January, following the usual schedule.

I’m really enjoying Pokemon TCG Pocket on my phone! The best part is it’s totally free to play, though you can spend a little money if you want to get extra stuff in the game. It’s available for both iPhone and Android, so pretty much anyone can jump in.
