Pokemon TCG Pocket Finally Reveals What The Mysterious Advance Ticket Is For (And Fans Aren’t Happy)

Longtime players of Pokemon TCG Pocket might have an unclaimed item in their game. When the app first launched, players who downloaded it before January 2025 received a mysterious item called the “Advance Ticket,” and its use remained unknown. Fans have been eagerly waiting to find out what the ticket unlocks, and it seems the answer has been tied to the game’s one-year anniversary celebration.

After a year of waiting, Pokemon TCG Pocket has finally explained what the Advance Ticket is for. DeNA announced on the game’s official X account that the ticket enters players into a drawing for Pack Hourglasses. Surprisingly, even players who got the ticket recently will be included in the raffle, leading many to wonder if it had any real purpose. The answer seems to be… sort of.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Gives Away Free Pack Hourglasses in Advance Ticket Drawing

Players with Advance Tickets will automatically be entered into a special drawing within the Pokemon TCG Pocket app. The drawing starts October 29th at 11:00 PM Pacific Time and ends January 28th, 2026, at 9:59 PM Pacific Time. Throughout this period, participants can win one of three different prize levels.

  • 1st Prize: 1,200 Pack Hourglasses
  • 2nd Prize: 120 Pack Hourglasses
  • 3rd Prize: 24 Pack Hourglasses

Although players appreciate receiving free Pack Hourglasses, many are disappointed with the reward after waiting a year. It’s especially frustrating that even players who didn’t purchase Advance Tickets will receive the same amount. As a result, some fans who did buy tickets feel they didn’t get a worthwhile benefit, and overall, people are a bit underwhelmed by the outcome.

I’ve been holding onto this special ticket for a year, and I’m finally going to find out what it’s for!

Only a small number of players—100 with Advance Tickets—will receive a large prize of 1,200 Pack Hourglasses. A larger group of 10,000 players will get 120 Pack Hourglasses. However, the vast majority of players, whether they have an Advance Ticket or not, will likely receive only 24 Pack Hourglasses, which is the same as opening two free packs in the game. While this isn’t a bad reward, many players were hoping for something more exciting.

You’ll get the most out of the free Pack Hourglasses if you log in right when the event starts. The first set of B series packs will be available in Pokemon TCG Pocket when Mega Rising is released on October 31st. That means you’ll have brand new packs to open using your free Hourglasses! Plus, thanks to the anniversary update, you’ll also be able to gift those new cards to your friends in the game.
