As a seasoned Pokemon TCG Pocket player with years of collecting under my belt, I must say this latest December Wonder Pick Part 1 event has got me all fired up! The Venusaur-themed items and exclusive promo cards are right up my alley. I’ve been a Bulbasaur fan since the very beginning, so having a new Promo A version of Bulbasaur is just the cherry on top.
In the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, Wonder Picks provide players with an opportunity to purchase additional cards between packs, offering a fun method to peek at friends’ acquired cards and aim for specific ones. However, there’s more to it! The game may emphasize exceptional Wonder Picks through events, allowing enthusiasts to obtain new or exclusive cards. For instance, the December Wonder Pick Part 1 event started on December 6th, offering new promo cards and a shop filled with Venusaur-themed items for fans of the original Grass-type starter Pokemon, Venusaur.
In the game of Pokemon TCG, participating in Wonder Pick events provides additional Bonus Picks options to the player’s menu. These Bonus Picks offer a selection from an exclusive pool, often featuring one or two promotional cards from that specific event, along with items such as Pack Hourglasses, Wonder Pick Stamina, and sometimes unique Event Shop Tickets. The inaugural Wonder Pick event in November focused on Chansey and Meowth, providing special event shop cosmetics for Meowth as a bonus.
These Wonder Pick events are not to be confused with Mass Outbreak events in Pokemon TCG Pocket, though it’d be fairly easy to think they’re similar. Mass Outbreaks also add additional Wonder Picks to the pull, but if the first Fire-type outbreak was any indication, they don’t last as long and are more card-focused. They do not include a special event shop or add new cards to the pool, but rather give players better odds to pull certain cards within the Mass Outbreak set.
The most recent “Wonder Pick” occasion commenced on December 6th and will continue until December 20th, placing us squarely within the winter holiday period. Notably, this takes place during the same timeframe as the “Venusaur Drop” event, which explains why the unique shop offerings carry a Venusaur motif.
All Rewards & Missions for Pokemon TCG Pocket December Wonder Pick Part 1 Event
In the first part of December’s featured event, titled “Wonder Pick Part 1,” two fresh Promo Cards are introduced into the Promo-A collection: a unique Promo A Bulbasaur card and a revamped Promo A version of Magnemite. During this event, these exclusive cards will appear in special Chansey Picks. Additionally, players have an opportunity to draw standard Bulbasaur and Magnemite cards, along with other items.
Enthusiastic players seeking additional customization options or completionists aiming to acquire every unique item should keep their fingers crossed for some Event Shop Tickets. These tickets enable you to purchase the new cosmetics introduced during the December Wonder Pick event, such as a Venusaur Display Board and Venusaur Binder, along with a snowy Snow Crystals display board. You can find these items in the Shop’s Limited Time/Events section and each one costs 3 Event Shop Tickets – so, a total of 9 tickets if you want to complete the set before the event concludes.
Since the Venusaur Drop event is currently underway, it makes perfect sense that they’ve added a new Wonder Pick event as well.

In Part 1 of the “Wonder Pick Event,” you’ll find unique Missions that grant extra Shop Tickets upon completion. By finishing each mission, players can collect enough tickets to buy every item exclusive to this event. So, active participation guarantees access to all these special items without relying on luck! The special missions for this Wonder Pick event are as follows:
- Collect 1 Magnemite Card
- Collect 2 Magnemite Cards
- Collect 1 Bulbasaur Card
- Collect 2 Bulbasaur Cards
- Wonder Pick 3 Times
- Wonder Pick 5 Times
- Wonder Pick 7 Times
In the case of Wonder Pick missions, taking a peek at other players’ cards, in addition to the mission-specific choices, will also be considered. The remainder of the process involves acquiring the necessary cards either through selections or by opening card packs.
If the trend continues as seen in the previous Featured Event, it’s possible that the subsequent segment of the current event will commence not long after this one concludes, and could possibly introduce new event-related items or quests for gamers to complete.
