Authorities are clarifying details surrounding the unexpected demise of Dan Rivera, the paranormal researcher, who met his end during a tour involving the allegedly haunted Annabelle doll.
On July 13, Dan’s body was discovered at a hotel in Gettysburg, where he and the New England Society of Psychic Research (NESPR) were hosting an event showcasing a puzzling artifact, as reported by the Pennsylvania State Police.
In a police report published on July 16, it was stated that the deceased individual was found in his hotel room by staff members. Upon investigation, nothing out of the ordinary or suspect was noted at the location.
A cause of death has not been determined, pending an autopsy, per authorities.
Following Dan’s passing, his colleagues at NESPR expressed in a statement on July 15th that they are still grappling with this deep sense of mourning.
For more than ten years, Dan was an indispensable member of our team and beyond that, he was a genuinely caring, faithful, and committed friend. His compassionate spirit and strong convictions left a lasting impression on all those fortunate enough to know him.
As a devoted follower, I’m unsure about the shape NESPR may take without Dan, but the organization remains resolute in its intentions to embark on the Annabelle tour.
In their declaration, NESPR expressed wholeheartedly that Dan would have approved of the project’s continuation. They plan to keep his essence alive as they move forward with every action.
NESPR, established by paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who was also a trance medium, is renowned for their work, notably involving Annabelle, which they claimed to be “demonically possessed.” This premise formed the basis of the movie franchise, “The Conjuring,” with actors Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga portraying the Warrens.
According to NESPR, Dan was a “constant presence” around Lorraine before her death in 2019.
In their statement on July 15, they mentioned that he was consistently working alongside Lorraine Warren and stayed with her, even during her deteriorating health. They were always there to provide her with a firm hand and constant support.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d usually find Annabelle residing at the Warrens’ Occult Museum in Monroe, Connecticut. But here’s an exciting twist: NESPR is currently providing a “thrilling encounter” with the doll as part of their Devils On The Run Tour. It promises to be quite a chilling experience!
The tour is slated to wrap up in Maine this September.
