Get ready to start picking your free PlayStation Plus games for January 2026! We’re excited to announce the first games available with PS Plus Essential for the new year.
We shared this news over the holidays, so you may have overlooked it amidst all the festive food and drinks. Don’t worry, though – here’s a quick update.
As per usual, three PS5 games are up for grabs, two of which are also available on PS4.
The main attraction is likely Need for Speed Unbound, the visually unique racing game released in 2022. Most people agree it’s a really well-made driving game.
Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a revamped version of the 2010 Wii game, and while reviews weren’t overwhelmingly positive this time around, it’s still a great game to have with your PlayStation Plus subscription, especially with all the new gameplay improvements.
Lastly, there’s Core Keeper, a survival and crafting game that came out in 2024. It focuses heavily on digging and collecting resources. You might have heard similar descriptions for other games, but Core Keeper has the potential to be incredibly engaging, and you can enjoy it with friends – up to eight of you can play together!
What are your thoughts on the first free game offered with PS Plus Essential in 2026? Be sure to vote in our poll, and then share your honest opinion – whether you like it or not – in the comments below.
