Often hailed as the most impactful strategy RPG ever created… and after many years since it first appeared on the original PlayStation, Final Fantasy Tactics is back.
Based on reviews, this is a fantastic return to form. The Ivalice Chronicles isn’t a complete rebuild from scratch, but it is a thoughtfully crafted remaster. It includes new features to improve gameplay and several other enhancements, all aiming to be the best possible version of the game.
We’re happy to see that Square Enix carefully developed this project. Within the Final Fantasy series, Tactics has consistently been a highly-regarded game-widely considered a classic. Therefore, this long-awaited remaster absolutely needed to deliver a quality experience.
We said that Final Fantasy Tactics on PS5 is nearly the perfect way to experience a game that still holds up incredibly well today, giving it a score of 9/10 and calling it ‘excellent’ in our review.
It’s disappointing that Square Enix removed content from The War of the Lions, but if you can overlook that, the many helpful improvements, new features, and upgrades make this a great way to replay, or discover, one of the most important video games of all time.
Well, what more can we say?
Okay, now that I’ve said how excited I am, I’m really curious – are you guys getting Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles? Definitely vote in our polls! And if you’re feeling brave, tell us how old you are in the comments section below. I’m genuinely interested!
