We’re kicking off a new Game of the Month campaign for 2026 here at Push Square! We want you to help us choose the best games of the year. We’re looking forward to some great gaming moments with your help!
Let’s kick things off with January, which was a pretty calm month overall. However, a few excellent games came out on PS5, and we want you to tell us which one was your favorite!
Trails beyond the Horizon is finally here – the newest JRPG in Falcom’s popular series. It’s shaping up to be one of the best games in the ongoing story, according to early reviews – including ours!
2XKO then launched on consoles as a surprisingly high-quality, free-to-play fighting game. Shortly after, Arknights: Endfield arrived – another free-to-play game, this time a gacha RPG, and it’s proven popular with fans of the genre.
Highguard is also worth noting, though some people question how long it will remain popular. Cairn, on the other hand, was a unique experience, focusing on careful strategy while scaling mountains – a rare game that was both calming and demanding.
We finished January by taking a look at Code Vein 2. While it didn’t quite click with us, we suspect many of you are having a great time with its fast-paced, anime-style combat.
So, what game did you enjoy the most last January? Vote for your Game of the Month in our poll, and tell us why you chose it in the comments!
Voting closes on Monday the 9th February 2026, at 00:00 GMT.
