This month, June, seems to have been the most tranquil one in terms of new releases this year, with only a few major titles making an appearance, such as Death Stranding 2. There were hardly any high-budget games launched during this period.
To suggest that June was of poor quality would not accurately reflect its merits. For instance, the soccer simulator game Rematch – developed by Sifu studio SloClap – turned out to be surprisingly captivating. A shining example of an excellent idea brought to life with grace and assurance, Rematch has become a highly sought-after multiplayer title and a standout success of 2025.
In brief, the remastered version of Raidou resuscitated a PlayStation 2 role-playing game by Atlus that had been largely overlooked. Improved, extended, and revamped, it offers a well-deserved opportunity for a comeback for what many regard as a cult classic.
Additionally, it’s worth mentioning The Alters and Date Everything as well. These games are equally fascinating, featuring captivating narrative elements and innovative gameplay mechanics. The Alters stands out as an unconventional clone-based survival management simulation, while Date Everything provides a fresh perspective on romantic visual novels, offering something truly unique.
Regarding Death Stranding 2, it’s clear that it’s shaping up to be a strong contender for Game of the Year. Without a doubt, Kojima Productions’ sequel will set the bar high in this month’s Game of the Month competition.
