Of course, the original Metal Gear Solid 3 is among the top-rated PlayStation 2 games in history. This means that its upcoming PlayStation 5 version, known as Metal Gear Solid Delta, certainly faces a significant challenge in living up to its predecessor’s legacy.
As a devoted admirer, I must say that Delta has made an impressive debut, earning some of the most favorable critical acclaim of 2025 thus far. However, it seems like the remake hasn’t resonated as powerfully with gamers as I had hoped.
Some users have experienced performance problems that have negatively affected their experience, and a few dedicated Metal Gear fans have criticized the game’s updated feel, particularly the control of Snake.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but join the chorus singing praises for Delta, hailed as a loyal reincarnation of an original classic – Snake Eater. Frankly, I believe that a remake along the lines of Final Fantasy 7 would not have resonated favorably with fans like us. Instead, we’re thrilled to see Delta staying true to its roots and continuing to captivate players worldwide.

Even after more than two decades, the loyalty to its original material in Metal Gear Solid 3 continues to make it as impressive and captivating as ever.
