Potential Rapunzel and Flynn Rider Actors in ‘Tangled’ Remake Revealed

Disney is getting closer to finding the actors who will play Rapunzel and Flynn Rider in the upcoming live-action version of Tangled – meaning they’re likely moving on from considering Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi for the roles!

Several actresses are being considered for the role of the blonde princess, including Sarah Catherine Hook (known for The White Lotus), Olivia-Mai Barrett (Invasion), and Teagan Croft (Titans). Freya Skye, who recently appeared in Disney’s Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, is also a contender, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Lola Tung, from The Summer I Turned Pretty, was initially considered but didn’t audition, likely due to other commitments.

Several actors are reportedly in the running to play the charming thief Flynn Rider, including Charlie Gillespie (known from Totally Killer), Gilli Jones, and Milo Manheim, who previously appeared in Disney’s Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires.

Many fans have suggested actresses like McKenna Grace (from Young Sheldon), Sadie Sink (Stranger Things), Florence Pugh (Thunderbolts), and Isabel May (Scream 7) for the role of Rapunzel. However, Sabrina Carpenter was a somewhat unexpected name that also came up as a possibility.

Fans quickly responded to the idea of Sabrina Carpenter as Snow White, creating fan-made images and even trailers showcasing her in the role. However, it seems unlikely she’ll actually be cast. According to a source specializing in movie news, Carpenter did meet with Disney about the live-action remake, but the studio ultimately decided to move forward with other options. Neither Disney nor Carpenter have confirmed or denied this information.

There were also rumors circulating earlier this year that Scarlett Johansson would play Mother Gothel. The Avengers actress playfully hinted at the possibility in an interview with ETOnline, saying “anything is possible.”

Honestly, the biggest draw for me with this project is getting to work with Michael Gracey. He’s a truly incredible director – a real visionary. As an actor, collaborating with someone like him would be a dream come true.

However, Johansson is no longer attached to the role, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
