Power Rangers: Disney+ TV Show Casting Update Features Big Names for Key Roles

The upcoming Power Rangers Disney+ TV show reboot has received a big casting update.

Last year, Disney+ announced a new live-action Power Rangers show. Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, known for Percy Jackson and the Olympians, will write, produce, and oversee the series. According to TheWrap, the show aims to update the franchise for modern audiences while still appealing to longtime fans.

We haven’t heard much about the project since its announcement, but we’re starting to get some information about who Disney might cast in the show.

What is the casting update on the Power Rangers TV show reboot?

Sources at TheDisInsider report that Peyton Elizabeth Lee is a potential candidate to star in the upcoming Power Rangers show. Lee is well-known for her work with Disney, having appeared in several of their projects like Andi Mack, The Lion Guard, Secret Society of Second-Born Royals, Doogie Kameāloha, M.D., and Prom Pact, among others.

I’m really excited about Mason Thames – he’s quickly becoming a name to watch! You might recognize him from the live-action How to Train Your Dragon film, and he’s also set to star in Black Phone 2, which is coming out in 2025. I think he’s going to have a great career.

According to the article, while the individual isn’t currently considered a likely candidate, Disney is interested in collaborating with Thames in the future. Production on the new Power Rangers series is anticipated to begin in April, after filming for How to Train Your Dragon 2 is completed.

There are reports that Priyanka Chopra, wife of Nick Jonas, is being considered to play the villain Rita Repulsa.

I’ve been following the casting news, and it sounds like a bunch of talented people are in the running! Besides the actors already announced, they’re also looking at Shaun Dixon (you might know him from Vampirina), Paris Bravo (Venom: The Last Dance), Judd Goodstein (Young Jedi Adventures), Momoma Tamada (Avatar: The Last Airbender), Christian Alexander Cruz, and Kira McLean for roles. It’s exciting to see so many possibilities!

Currently, information about the cast of the new Power Rangers show is just speculation. Disney hasn’t made any official announcements about who is starring in, or being considered for, the series.
