As a long-time fan, it’s great to see the Power Rangers universe heating up again! It’s been a little quiet lately, but there are actually a few different projects in the works right now. We’re getting a new live-action series that’s aiming to bring Power Rangers to a whole new audience, and a comic book series that revisits the original Mighty Morphin team a decade after they hung up their helmets. But honestly, I’m most excited about another project that’s been announced. It sounds like it has the potential for some amazing team-ups, and even better, it’s going to introduce a completely new Power Ranger to the mix!
Nothing Is Off The Table In Power Rangers Unlimited

BOOM! Studios is planning a big expansion of its Power Rangers comics with three new series: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Unlimited, and Power Rangers: Green. Mighty Morphin will jump ahead in time, focusing on the original team, while Power Rangers: Green will center on an older Tommy Oliver, now the last Power Ranger. Power Rangers Unlimited is the most ambitious, pulling characters and stories from every season, comic, and series ever created, opening the door for huge team-ups and crossovers.
Power Rangers crossovers usually only appear in comic books or special anniversary episodes. However, Unlimited delivers the kind of interconnected stories fans have always wanted, where different Power Rangers teams meet and team up. Events like Shattered Grid showed how exciting a large-scale, multiverse story could be, and Unlimited aims to bring that excitement to fans every month.
The first issue of Power Rangers Unlimited hints at a secret base on Aquitar, the Alien Rangers’ home planet. There, a new Ranger called the Striking Tiger Unlimited Ranger is gathering Power Rangers from different eras and worlds to create a powerful team. This team will fight a growing threat, and it’s unclear whether they’ll be a long-term group or if the lineup will change frequently—either way, the possibilities for exciting team-ups are huge.
The new comic book series, Power Rangers Unlimited, will be written by Joey Esposito, known for his work on Batman: Urban Legends, and Kenny Porter, who has written The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive. Alessio Zonno, an artist who previously worked on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Ninja Turtles III, will provide the artwork. Fans can expect the first issue to arrive on July 1st, 2026.
