Predator: Badlands: New Movie’s Official MPA Rating Is Surprising

The new movie, *Predator: Badlands*, has been given an MPA rating that’s unexpectedly low, and some fans aren’t happy about it.

The new Predator movie, titled Badlands, will be released in US cinemas next month. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg and produced by 20th Century Studios, the film features Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi and Elle Fanning.

What is Predator: Badland’s MPA rating?

The new Predator movie, titled Badlands, will be rated PG-13. This is a first for the core Predator series, though the 2004 Alien vs. Predator film also received a PG-13 rating.

The announcement upset some fans, but others are hopeful and trust Trachtenberg to deliver.

Even though Badlands is rated PG-13, producer Ben Rosenblatt assured IGN that it will still deliver the intense alien action fans expect. The filmmakers aimed for a PG-13 rating but wanted the movie to *feel* like an R-rated film, hoping to reach a wider audience.

Since the movie doesn’t feature any humans, there’s no human blood. We’re hoping this will work in our favor, allowing us to create some really intense and shocking scenes—but using colors other than red.

Currently, *Predator: Badlands* doesn’t have an official rating from either FilmRatings.com or 20th Century Studios. Although a PG-13 rating is anticipated, the specific reasons for that rating haven’t been announced yet.

The new movie, Predator: Badlands, takes place on a dangerous planet in the future. It follows a young Predator who’s been exiled (played by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi) and his surprising partnership with a woman named Thia (Elle Fanning, known for her Emmy and Golden Globe nominations). Together, they face a difficult and risky quest to find a powerful enemy.

Predator: Badlands will be released on November 7, 2025.
