As a big fan of the Predator movies, I was starting to lose hope – the series really seemed to be going downhill. But then ‘Prey’ came out and totally turned things around! It was a huge success, and just like what ‘Alien: Romulus’ did for that franchise, it breathed new life into Predator. Now, with sequels already confirmed, I just saw the first trailer for ‘Badlands,’ and honestly, it looks fantastic. I’m really excited to see where they take this!
“Badlands” is a futuristic story set on a dangerous, faraway planet. It centers on a young Predator who has been exiled (played by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi) and his surprising partnership with Thia (Elle Fanning, known for her Emmy and Golden Globe nominations). Together, they face a perilous quest to find a powerful enemy.
The new trailer confirms that the Predator is the main character in this film, and Dakota Fanning plays an android. Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi stars as the Predator, named Dek, in the movie, which was filmed in New Zealand late in 2024. Director Dan Trachtenberg is back, and he promises this trailer shows much more of the intense action hinted at in the teaser. We recently spoke with Trachtenberg and everything he has planned looks fantastic!
Predator Badlands is released on 7th November.
