Pregnant Jana Duggar Details Major Home Renovation

Jana Duggar is counting on her reno skills.

In a YouTube video posted on October 14th, former Counting On star shared the home improvements she and her husband, Stephen Wissmann, completed on their Nebraska house.

Jana, who revealed she and Stephen are expecting their first child in August, shared updates on their home renovations, which included a new fence and updates to the garage, living room, and kitchen.

Jana shared the results of her and Stephen’s renovations, giving viewers a tour of their newly completed projects. These included a kitchen with updated appliances, a living room featuring new furniture and décor with built-in shelving, and a pantry that had been freshly painted and fitted with a new door frame.

And fans couldn’t help but marvel over how they transformed their space.

One fan expressed their joy, writing, “I love how you’ve turned this house into a home!” They added, “I’m so excited to see the nursery and wish you continued blessings.”

Another added, “You need your own “Home Improvement” show. Impressive skillset, Jana!”

Those fans have been following Jana and Stephen’s journey ever since they bought a five-bedroom house in Stephen’s home state at auction in 2023.

She had previously hinted at a collaboration with family to create their ideal home.

In August 2024, while showing off their newly purchased home that they were renovating, Jana excitedly remarked on how quickly the project was progressing thanks to the help of many volunteers. She and her husband had just gotten married that month and she expressed her eagerness to see the finished result.

Indeed, Jana and Stephen have been working on building their family.

Jana announced on Instagram on August 18th that she and her family are expecting a baby in January 2026. She expressed her excitement and said they are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their new child and this exciting new phase of their lives.

These two lovebirds have been together since high school, and their family has grown to include 19 children and over 36 grandchildren.

Michelle remembers accepting a religious faith at age 15. Later, Jim Bob was visiting homes in the neighborhood as part of his church’s outreach program. A friend mentioned a new believer – a cheerleader from school – lived with the Ruarks, so Jim Bob went to their door.

Jim Bob and Michelle first met when they invited her to Sunday school at their church, and Jim Bob hoped they would become spiritual mentors to each other – though Michelle doesn’t recall the meeting being particularly memorable. A year later, Michelle applied for a job at the frozen yogurt shop owned by Jim Bob’s parents. In a 2017 blog post celebrating their 33rd wedding anniversary and Jim Bob’s birthday, Michelle recalled, “You came to the counter where I was working and introduced yourself. You were shy but really kind! I don’t remember much of the conversation, except that you finally worked up the courage to ask me to the junior-senior banquet!”

Michelle and Jim Bob first connected at a dinner held at Shiloh Christian. However, it was the hours they spent talking about the Bible at her parents’ home afterward that truly solidified their connection. As Michelle described it, that’s when they felt their hearts truly connected. They graduated high school in May 1984 and were married just two months later in July. Michelle was 17 at the time, and Jim Bob was 19.

The couple dedicated themselves to God and each other for the long run.

Jim Bob previously served as a state representative for Arkansas’s sixth district from 1999 to 2002, where he was vice chair of the House Corrections and Criminal Law Subcommittee. He ran for U.S. Senate in 2002, but didn’t win the primary. He also sought the Republican nomination for Arkansas State Senate District 35 in 2006, but was unsuccessful.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, both real estate agents, are known for their involvement in conservative activism. This has led to both support and criticism for them and their show, *19 Kids and Counting* (originally titled *17 Kids and Counting* when it began in 2008).

As of October 2024, they were grandparents of 33 with three on the way.

Josh Duggar, the oldest child of the Duggar family, was born on March 3, 1988. Like his parents, he became involved in conservative activism, working with the Family Research Council.

As a longtime follower, it was truly heartbreaking when Josh stepped down. Back in 2015, old police records came out detailing accusations that he’d harmed girls, including his sisters, Jessa and Jill, when he was younger. I remember Jessa actually sat down with Fox News that June to defend him, and she strongly stated that a lot of the things people were saying were just untrue and overly dramatic. She even said she felt comfortable saying that because she was one of those affected, and she wanted people to know the truth as she saw it.

His wife, Anna Duggar, whom he married on September 26, 2008, in a ceremony shown on the show *19 Kids and Counting*, remained supportive, even after he confessed to infidelity.

In 2016, when he began treatment, his parents described it as an important start to his recovery process.

Anna and her husband have seven children: Mackynzie (born October 8, 2009), Michael (June 15, 2011), Marcus (June 2, 2013), Meredith (July 16, 2015), Mason Garett (September 12, 2017), Maryella Hope (November 27, 2019), and Madyson Lily (October 23, 2021). Meredith was born on the same day TLC canceled *19 Kids*.

I was shocked to learn that Josh was indicted in April 2021 on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography. He initially pleaded not guilty, but unfortunately, in 2022, he was convicted on both counts. The judge did later dismiss the possession charge, but he still received a sentence of twelve and a half years in prison. It’s a really difficult situation, and I’m still processing everything.

Soon after Josh arrived, Michelle became pregnant again, but sadly had a miscarriage. While they were still saddened by this loss and seeking direction, Michelle and Jim Bob were overjoyed to discover they were expecting twins.

It felt like a wonderful gift from God, a real encouragement to us,” she explained. “We’re still figuring things out as we go. It’s quite unique – I breastfeed, and my children are very close in age. I have a baby, and then I’m pregnant again just eight months later. It’s just another unexpected blessing in our journey.

John David Duggar and his twin sister Jana Duggar were born on Jan. 12, 1990.

John David and Abbie-Grace Burnett married on November 3, 2018, after a quick romance and engagement. Though they had been aware of each other for years, they first met at a church event in Oklahoma, where Abbie grew up.

They welcomed daughter Grace Annette Duggar on Jan. 7, 2020 and son Charlie Duggar in September 2022.

In January 2020, on their 30th birthday, Jana shared a heartfelt message with her brother, John. They’d often been asked if they had a special “twin connection” – that feeling of sharing each other’s thoughts or emotions. Jana had always said no, but she explained that when their niece, Gracie, was born, she truly felt the same joy as John did, making her believe the connection was real after all!

Jana said it was lovely seeing them and Abbie as parents, adding that they were natural at it. She also pointed out that the same great qualities that made him a wonderful brother would make him a fantastic dad.

Jana watched eleven of her eighteen siblings get married before she met her husband, Stephen Wissmann. Stephen’s sister, Hannah, is married to Jana’s brother, Jeremiah. Even though she sometimes felt frustrated by the wait, Jana believes everything happened according to God’s plan.

Jana explained to *People* magazine that she’s realized everyone’s life path is different, and she trusts that God has a plan for each of us. That’s why she’s comfortable getting married later in life. ‘If we were all the same, life would be really dull,’ she said, ahead of her wedding on August 15, 2024.

Just over a year later, the couple shared that they’re expecting their first baby.

Jill Dillard (born May 17, 1991) met her husband, Derick, in a way that reminded people of her parents’ romance. He visited the Duggar family home in December 2011 while caroling with his church group, and they were introduced then. Derick grew up about 45 minutes from the Duggars.

Jim Bob brought Jill and Derick together, and they quickly connected through email and video calls. That November, Jill and her father visited Derick in Nepal, and their relationship blossomed. In February 2014, Derick formally asked Jim Bob for Jill’s hand in marriage, and they were married on June 21, 2014. They now have three sons: Israel, born April 6, 2015, Samuel, born July 8, 2017, and Frederick, born July 7, 2022.

In April 2024, Jill announced she and Derick had experienced a miscarriage while expecting a baby girl.

In the Amazon Prime Video documentary *Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets*, which debuted in June 2023, Jill and Derick Duggar discussed the controversies and religious beliefs connected to their family.

Jim Bob and Michelle’s fifth child, Jessa Duggar, was born Nov. 4, 1992.

Jessa and Ben first met at church, and he began pursuing her in 2013. This formal approach to courtship was new to many viewers, as the couple kept their romantic relationship private before getting engaged. Jessa’s father, Jim Bob, explained to *People* magazine that courtship differs from dating. Courtship involves getting to know each other with both families involved, and setting goals together to see if they are a good match for marriage. Dating, on the other hand, often involves couples spending time alone, which can sometimes lead to physical intimacy.

Ben sought Jessa’s father’s permission to propose, and then officially asked her to marry him in August 2014—a special moment because it was the first time they’d held hands. They wed on November 1, 2014. Jessa was expecting their first child when their show, *19 Kids and Counting*, was canceled. TLC then broadcast a special episode featuring Jessa and her sister Jill discussing sexual abuse and raising awareness about the issue. That winter, the sisters starred in their own series, *Jill and Jessa: Counting On*, which later became *Counting On* and included other members of the Duggar family.

Jessa and Ben have four children: Spurgeon, born November 5, 2015; Henry, born February 6, 2017; Ivy Jane, born May 28, 2019; and Fern, born in July 2021. They sadly experienced a miscarriage during the 2022 holidays, but welcomed their newest son, George, in December 2023.

In August 2025, Jessa announced the birth of son Edward.

The sixth Duggar child, Jinger Vuolo, was born Dec. 21, 1993.

Jinger and Jeremy first connected while doing mission work in Laredo, Texas, and began dating in 2016. They got married on November 5th, 2016 – the same day as Jinger’s nephew Spurgeon’s birthday – and quickly faced speculation that they were expecting a baby. It’s hard to avoid overlapping important dates when you’re part of a large family of nineteen children!

In June 2017, on the show *Counting On*, Jinger shared that she and her husband hoped to be settled in Laredo, continuing their ministry work and finding ways to serve God.

Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo welcomed their first daughter, Felicity, on July 19, 2018. Before Felicity’s birth, they shared that Jinger had experienced a miscarriage in the fall of 2017. Their second daughter, Evangeline Jo, arrived in November 2020.

Son Finnegan Charles was born March 29, 2025.

Joseph Duggar, born on January 20, 1995, proposed to Kendra Caldwell at his sister Joy-Anna’s wedding in May 2017. They had met through church and had been courting for only a few months when he asked her to marry him.

Joseph admitted he was nervous proposing, but he felt confident she’d say yes, since she had previously told him, ‘I’m just waiting on you!'” he shared with *People* magazine. Kendra added, “I’m incredibly happy and completely shocked! I have so much I want to say, but I’m still in shock.”

The couple has welcomed three children: Garrett, born in June 2018, Addison, born in November 2019, and Brooklyn, born in February 2021.

Eighth in line, Josiah Duggar was born on Aug. 28, 1996.

After publicly dating for only a few months, the couple announced their engagement in March 2018. He shared that he proposed to Lauren in the same location where her parents had gotten engaged, explaining that the property held a lot of family history and was therefore very meaningful to her.

Lauren’s future mother-in-law, Michelle, shared in a video on the family’s blog how much they adore her, calling her a ‘precious girl.’ Jessa and Ben also congratulated the couple and gave them chocolate candies shaped like hugs and kisses. Michelle jokingly said, ‘I’m guessing you want to save your first kiss for the wedding,’ and then held up the chocolate as a fun alternative if they visited.

Josiah previously dated Marjorie Jackson, but they ended their relationship in the summer of 2015. He told *People* magazine in March 2016 that they had enjoyed their time together and were trying to discern what God wanted for them. Ultimately, Marjorie didn’t feel the timing was right, so they decided to take a break.

He and Lauren got married on June 30, 2018, and described their wedding day as “absolutely perfect” in an interview with *People* magazine. They became parents to daughter Bella Milagro on November 8, 2019—a name meaning “miracle baby”—after Lauren experienced a miscarriage in October 2018. The couple expanded their family with another daughter, Daisy, born in 2022, and a son named Ezra, who arrived in May 2023.

Ninth sibling Joy-Anna Duggar was born Oct. 28, 1997.

I’ve been following Joy and Austin’s story for years, and it’s so sweet! They were friends for a full 15 years before they even started dating, which is amazing to me. Once they did start courting, things moved pretty quickly – Austin proposed in February 2017, and they were married just a few months later on May 26th at Cross Church in Rogers, Arkansas. It was a really special day – and if you remember, it was at that same wedding that Joseph proposed to Kendra!

Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth have three children: Gideon Martin Forsyth, born February 23, 2018; Evelyn Mae Forsyth, born August 21, 2020; and Gunner James Forsyth, born May 17, 2023.

Jed and Jeremiah Duggar, the second set of twins born to Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, arrived on December 30, 1998.

Jed and Katey Nakatsu got married in April 2021 after dating for a year. They have two children: a son named Truett, born in May 2022, and a daughter named Nora Kate, born in June 2023.

Jed and Katey shared the exciting news in July 2024 that they were expecting twin girls. Elsie Kate and Emma Kate arrived on January 8, 2025.

Jeremiah is a certified flight instructor and is married to Hannah Wissmann, who is the sister of Stephen (Jana’s husband). Together, they have two daughters: Brynley, born in December 2022, and Brielle, born in February 2024.

They announced the arrival of their third daughter, Emery ‘Emy’ Jane Duggar, on May 18, 2025.

No. 12 Jason Duggar was born on April 21, 2000.

In January 2017, the Daily Mail reported that Jim Bob assisted Jase in purchasing a rundown house in Prairie Grove, Arkansas—roughly 30 minutes from the Duggar family’s property—and Jase later launched his own construction business.

He publicly announced his relationship with Maddie Grace on Instagram in May 2024, and they got married in October of the same year.

Charmed No. 13, James Duggar was born July 7, 2001.

He’s not currently looking for a romantic partner, but he’s a very loving and attentive uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Mom Michelle described James as the ‘fun uncle’ – someone all the younger boys admire and want to emulate. She shared this on his 19th birthday in 2019, adding that James has always been able to build or create anything he imagines. Even when he was little, he loved taking things apart – from household appliances to anything he could get his hands on – figuring out how they worked, and then reassembling them, often with his own improvements!

James put in a lot of effort this year and earned his commercial driver’s license! He’s now skilled at operating large trucks and heavy equipment, and we’re excited to see what opportunities lie ahead for him.

No. 14 Justin Duggar arrived on Nov. 15, 2002.

He started dating Claire Spivey in September 2020, and they announced their engagement the following November. They were married on February 26, 2021.

Jackson Duggar, the fifteenth child of Jim Bob and Michelle, was born on May 23, 2004. He’s pictured here with his older sister, Jill.

On Jackson’s sixteenth birthday, his mom, Michelle, complimented his funny personality and said she knew he was eager to finally get his driver’s license.

Johannah Duggar was born on October 11, 2005, which is why her family was featured in the original special called *16 Kids and Moving In*.

On her daughter’s fifteenth birthday in 2020, Michelle wrote about how much joy she brings to others and how easily she makes friends. She added that her younger sisters completely idolize her, and Michelle feels blessed to be her mother.

Jennifer Duggar arrived on Aug. 2, 2007, then the baby of the family.

Their TLC show that premiered Sept. 29, 2008, was christened 17 Kids and Counting.

Now, OMG, she’s a teenager.

When her daughter Jennifer turned thirteen, Michelle described her as someone who is reliable, loyal, and a joy to be around! Jennifer is loved by all her younger cousins, who constantly want her to carry them. She also has a big heart for animals and diligently cares for her pets each day. Just recently, she even helped raise a whole litter of seven bunnies!

Here on the right, the penultimate Duggar child was born Dec. 18, 2008.

Jordyn-Grace was described by her mom in 2019 as a friendly and sociable girl who quickly connects with everyone she meets. Her laugh was also noted as being particularly cheerful and a highlight of their day.

Oh my gosh, Josie Duggar is just amazing! She was born on December 10th, 2009, but she came a little early – three months premature! Can you believe she only weighed 1 pound, 6 ounces? It’s incredible! She had to spend six months in the NICU, but she’s so strong and look at her now, holding sweet little Meredith! It just warms my heart.

Michelle described her daughter, Josie, as incredibly energetic when writing a birthday message for her 11th birthday in 2020. She noted that Josie is constantly on the go, from the moment she wakes up until bedtime.
