Great news for LEGO fans and fans of The Lord of the Rings! LEGO has announced a new set – Sauron’s Helmet – and it’s surprisingly affordable at just $69.99. While past Lord of the Rings LEGO sets have been quite expensive, this one makes collecting a stunning centerpiece much more accessible. The set perfectly captures Sauron’s menacing presence, with glossy black eyes creating a chilling, empty gaze. Even though it’s primarily grey, the helmet’s sharp angles and thin pieces evoke the ancient evil of Mordor’s leader. It even includes a Sauron mini-figure, complete with the One Ring!

PREORDER AT LEGO.com
With 538 pieces, this LEGO set is a great build for beginners and a welcome addition to any The Lord of the Rings collection. It measures 13 inches tall, 5 inches wide, and 5 inches deep. Fans can pre-order the set now at LEGO.com or Amazon, and it will ship on March 1st.
More The Lord of the Rings LEGO Sets Available Now
If you loved the stunning landscapes in The Lord of the Rings, and you’re willing to spend a bit of money, you’re in luck! Several of the LEGO sets based on the films are still available on Amazon and at the LEGO store. The most impressive – and expensive – is the Rivendell set. This massive build, with 6,167 pieces, recreates the beautiful Elven city in brick form. It also includes 15 mini-figures, like Frodo, Bilbo, Arwen, and Aragorn. Just be aware that at $499.99, it’s a significant purchase! You can find it on Amazon here.

If the bright and cheerful Rivendell set isn’t your style, consider the LEGO Lord of the Rings Barad-dur set. It’s currently available for backorder at the LEGO store and can also be purchased on Amazon for $459.99 – less than the Rivendell set. This massive set contains 5471 pieces and includes 10 mini-figures like Sauron, Frodo, Sam, and Gollum. The Dark Tower itself is an impressive 33 inches tall, 18 inches wide, and 12 inches deep. A special brick even lights up the Eye at the top, making it a striking centerpiece.

LEGO continues to show its love for the incredibly popular The Lord of the Rings with new sets, and a new movie, The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, is planned for 2027. This suggests more films could be on the way! There’s exciting news for fans, as Elijah Wood might return as Frodo Baggins, though this approach is similar to what Marvel often does with its characters. However, Viggo Mortensen likely won’t reprise his role as Aragorn; the filmmakers plan to recast the part to make a prequel appearance feel more authentic. Some fans are worried this new movie might face similar challenges to Disney’s Solo, which struggled after recasting the iconic Han Solo with Alden Ehrenreich. Only time will tell if this is the right direction for the franchise.
Even though final decisions are still being made, I’m really looking forward to seeing the future of this franchise. Hopefully, Amazon Studios prioritizes a compelling story over simply maximizing profits.
