The end of the year is shaping up to be great for movie and TV lovers. In 2025, we can look forward to the third Avatar film, the final season of Stranger Things, and a likely Oscar contender called Marty Supreme. Even if you prefer to stay home, there will be plenty to watch, with major releases heading to streaming services when many people have time off – like Bugonia coming to Peacock on December 26th. Plus, Amazon Prime subscribers have a ton of new content coming in just the next week.
Prime Video is adding some popular movies this December! You’ll be able to stream A Minecraft Movie, which was a huge hit in theaters earlier this year, and Ryan Coogler’s horror film Sinners will be available starting December 26th. Sinners was a top 10 domestic release and is considered one of the best films of 2025. Plus, on December 29th, the reboot of The Naked Gun arrives on Prime. There’s something for everyone, and all three movies are definitely worth watching!
Prime’s Upcoming December New Movie Highlights
Typically, at the end of the month, streaming services start taking things away, but Prime Video is doing the opposite this time! They’re actually adding a bunch of really good movies – a welcome surprise, especially with the holidays just around the corner.
I’m really excited about this lineup! They’ve got something for everyone, from heartwarming family movies like Free Willy, The Legend of Tarzan, and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, to awesome sci-fi like Ready Player One. And if you’re a fan of action-packed vampire films, you’re in for a treat with the Blade movies – Blade and Blade II are classics! It’s perfect because, after watching those, Sinners will fit right in with all the thrilling vampire energy.
