Amazon Prime Video subscribers have just one week to watch the first three seasons of a classic animated Justice League series – one of the team’s earliest on-screen adventures. Before the new DC Universe being developed by James Gunn and Peter Safran, DC Comics characters frequently appeared in animated shows and movies. This series, featuring favorites like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, is a bit of a hidden gem, but it’s still available to stream – for a limited time.
From 1973 to 1985, Super Friends aired on ABC as a popular Saturday morning cartoon, bringing DC Comics heroes – mostly from the Justice League – to a young audience. The first three seasons are currently available to stream on Prime Video in the US, but they will be removed at the end of September 2025. That means you have limited time to enjoy nearly 50 episodes of the Justice League’s early adventures.
Why You Should Watch DC’s Super Friends Before It Leaves Prime Video
For over fifty years, DC’s *Super Friends* has been celebrated as a classic animated TV show. It helped introduce a whole generation to DC Comics in the 1970s, creating a lasting fanbase. While not all seasons are currently available, it’s great that the first three are still streaming on Prime Video. Marvel has recently brought back some of its classic animated series with excellent updates, and DC Studios could do the same. It’s currently unclear where *Super Friends* will stream after it’s removed from Prime Video at the end of the month. However, since HBO Max is now the main streaming home for DC TV shows, it wouldn’t be unexpected to see classic animated series like *Super Friends* added to the platform. If *Super Friends* moves to HBO Max, it could reach a wider audience and possibly even spark interest in a reboot.
