Prime Video has had a strong year for adaptations of popular fan favorites. They started with the highly anticipated third season of Invincible, followed by what many consider one of the year’s best shows, The Mighty Nein season one. Now, their popular science fiction series is back, and its first episode has earned an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score.
Prime Video’s Fallout season 1 was one of the most successful video game adaptations ever made, brilliantly capturing the spirit of the games while telling its own exciting story. Now, season 2 is arriving on December 17th, and critics are already raving about it – it’s earned a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, which is a remarkable accomplishment.
Reviews Say Fallout Has Only Gotten Better With Season 2

Season 2 of Fallout has received 33 reviews so far, and critics seem to agree on a few key points. The show continues to successfully blend elements from the original game with a compelling, standalone story. At its heart, the season features characters who feel real and relatable, even amidst the post-apocalyptic setting.
I’m really loving Lucy MacClean, played by Ella Purnell, and Cooper, brought to life by Walton Goggins. They’re fantastic, and their scenes together are just gold – all that playful bickering and witty back-and-forth! What I also appreciate is that even though the show tackles some really dark and tough subjects, it’s still a genuinely fun and exciting ride. It manages to be heavy and entertaining, which is a tough balance to strike.
Many reviews praise how well the new season fits into the world of New Vegas, and fans of the Fallout franchise are enjoying the clever references and Easter eggs. Some reviewers even believe this season is an improvement over the already highly-rated first season, though even those who prefer season one agree it’s still excellent. Here’s the official description for Fallout season 2.
The next season begins after the dramatic events of the first season’s finale. It follows the story as characters travel through the dangerous Mojave Wasteland towards the ruined city of New Vegas.
Fallout, inspired by a legendary video game series, explores a world stripped bare after a devastating apocalypse. Two centuries later, the comfortable residents of underground shelters are forced to emerge into the ruined world their ancestors fled. They quickly discover a strange, violent, and surprisingly intricate society has risen from the ashes.
The second season of Fallout will be available to stream on Prime Video starting December 17th. You can watch the first season on Prime Video right now.
