Amazon Prime Video is consistently releasing successful shows, but doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves. While series like The Boys and Reacher have become widely popular, Prime Video has also quietly built a strong library of content across many genres. From comedies like Fleabag and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel to adult animation with Invincible, sci-fi like Fallout, fantasy with The Rings of Power, and action/espionage shows like Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Amazon has found success in a variety of areas.
As you may have seen from their series choices, Prime Video also focuses on reviving popular, established franchises with loyal fans. Their latest show continues this trend, returning for a second season and achieving high viewership numbers. Importantly, critics are also impressed with the new season, giving it a significantly better Rotten Tomatoes rating than before.
Cross Season 2 Is Already A Hit For Prime Video

Season 2 of Cross premiered on Prime Video on February 11th, and it’s been the most-watched title on the platform ever since. It’s currently beating out popular shows and movies like Fallout Season 2, Beast Games, and The Wrecking Crew. Anyone who wasn’t sure about Cross after Season 1 has to acknowledge its success now.
Okay, so I just finished the new season of Cross, and honestly, it’s pretty good! It’s sitting at 87% on Rotten Tomatoes, and everyone agrees Aldis Hodge is amazing – he really carries the whole show. That said, some people are saying the story this season isn’t as complex as previous Alex Cross adaptations; it’s a bit more…basic. Kaiya Shunyata from Robert Ebert.com put it perfectly: the first season was consistently gripping, which is rare for this kind of show. But this season? It started strong, but felt like it slowly lost steam, kind of like a rollercoaster that’s falling apart as it goes along.
Season 2 currently has an audience score of 55%, which is a bit lower and might change as more people share their opinions. Right now, the score isn’t fully representative because not enough viewers have rated it yet.
What Is Cross Season 2 About?

The second season of Cross follows Detective Alex Cross (Aldis Hodge) as he investigates a killer who is targeting wealthy and corrupt individuals, including tech billionaire Lance Durand (Matthew Lillard). Adding to the complexity, Cross and his partner, John Sampson (Isaiah Mustafa), face personal struggles when a past murder case resurfaces with the return of a family member. To make matters worse, the Department of Homeland Security begins to take an interest in the investigation.
Season 2 of Cross stars Hodge and Mustafa, alongside returning actor Matthew Lillard (known from Scream 7). The season also introduces Alona Tai (Supernatural) as FBI agent Kayla Craig, Jeanine Mason (So You Think You Can Dance) as the complex character Rebecca, a stalker who takes the law into her own hands, and Wes Chatham (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay) as her accomplice, Donnie.
