But honestly, their bigger, more expensive shows, like The Wheel of Time, haven’t really lived up to the hype, which was a shame when it got cancelled. Now, I’m really excited about the upcoming Fourth Wing adaptation. It already has a built-in fanbase, and it feels like Prime is really putting a lot into making it their next big hit – I’m hoping it delivers!

While visually impressive with its costumes and action, The Rings of Power sometimes focuses more on looking good than telling a compelling story. Though it’s a grand spectacle on television, the show doesn’t quite capture the emotional depth of The Lord of the Rings, and its characters feel somewhat detached and underdeveloped.
Viewers generally like the second season more, giving it a 59% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, that might not be enough to save the show, even if problems with the story’s speed and how characters grow are addressed. There’s a bigger challenge: keeping the original fans happy, and this could also be a problem for the series Fourth Wing.
Getting Fourth Wing Right Won’t Be Easy
Though highly anticipated, the upcoming fantasy series Fourth Wing isn’t guaranteed to be a hit. To succeed, the show needs to stay true to the book that already has a dedicated fanbase, but also overcome the challenges of adapting a story told from a single character’s point of view, which can be difficult to do effectively on screen.
Similar to The Hunger Games, Fourth Wing is told from a first-person, present-tense viewpoint and has strong potential for a successful screen adaptation. With its exciting dragon battles, many believe this series could become as popular as Game of Thrones, and careful development of the characters could even surpass The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
