Prime Video has become a major streaming service, and it’s already had success with animated shows. Like many streaming platforms, Prime Video often adapts existing stories into TV series, which helps build an audience right away. Recently, there was little news about one of their announced animated projects, but now we have some good news about its development.
Good news for fans of the Wytches comic! Creator Scott Snyder shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the pilot episode for the animated adaptation has been completed and he’s very pleased with it. He watched it just last night and expressed how proud he is of the project. This suggests the show is moving forward, and Snyder hinted that announcements about the cast are coming soon, meaning we might hear more details very shortly.
Why Wytches Is Such An Exciting Prospect

The comic book series Wytches is a highly anticipated horror adaptation currently in development. While it was announced that Prime Video would produce the series back in 2021, news has been limited since then. However, the success of Prime Video’s animated Invincible, another adaptation of an Image Comics series, is encouraging. The previous Image Comics horror adaptation, The Walking Dead, was also a huge hit, so expectations for Wytches are high.
The TV show Wytches is generating a lot of excitement, and for good reason. While many comic book adaptations have found success, Wytches – originally a critically acclaimed and popular comic series by Scott Snyder and Jock – stands out. Its intense, visually striking horror, combined with the confirmed involvement of both creators in the pilot episode, suggests the Prime Video series will stay true to the original story.
As a huge comic book fan, I truly believe Wytches could be the next big hit TV show based on an Image Comics title. We’ve seen with Stranger Things how much people love a scary, supernatural story focused on teens, and the Wytches comic is seriously good. That means the upcoming Prime Video adaptation has the potential to be absolutely terrifying and visually stunning – so when Scott Snyder recently gave an update, it really got me excited! Fans like me have been waiting years to see this story brought to life on screen.
