So, I was super excited when I saw the website for the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake pop up, thinking it might be a surprise release! Turns out, unfortunately, it was all a hoax. What a bummer!
The account on X that first reported this has been taken down, suggesting the story was likely made up to get more attention online, not because it was true.

People are still talking about the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time from Ubisoft, and the conversation continues to build.
This game has been in development for a long time, and we haven’t seen much of it since its initial, somewhat rough, showing in 2020.
Last December, industry insider Tom Henderson reported that the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was expected to release around mid-January 2026, specifically on the 16th. This prediction led many to believe we’d see the game at The Game Awards, but it didn’t happen.

So, I’ve noticed a ton of new game files have popped up online recently, and everyone’s guessing Ubisoft is getting ready to finally release the game. It seems like things are really starting to heat up!
Recently, people following the game’s development found a file named “game-release-tomorrow.png,” strongly indicating the Sands of Time remake will be released tomorrow.
