These lucky tourists got the royal treatment.
London’s Borough Market experienced a delightful surprise when Kate Middleton and Prince William started working behind the counters of different shops, cheerfully serving coffee and snacks to customers.
While visiting the historic marketplace, which has been around for over a thousand years, the couple explored local goods. They sampled cheese from Todd Trethowan, enjoyed beers at Southwark Brewing Company, and helped serve desserts at Humble Crumble.
Kate made William what looked like a delicious cappuccino at one of the stalls, and the couple also spent time giving out flowers near the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. They then put on lifejackets and waterproof clothing and took a ride on one of the Institution’s bright orange boats, where they learned about the vital work the organization does.
Both the outing on March 12th and the Commonwealth Day event on March 9th provided a cheerful break for the couple, especially considering the family has been dealing with difficulties since the arrest of Prince Andrew on February 19th.
As a lifestyle commentator, I’ve been following the news closely, and it’s been a difficult time for the former royal. He was arrested on his 66th birthday, facing accusations of wrongdoing during his time in public service. This all comes as people are increasingly looking into his connections with Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender, and the nature of their relationship. It’s a really complex situation with a lot of public interest.

Following his brother’s arrest, King Charles III issued a statement in support of law enforcement.
King Charles expressed his serious concern after learning about allegations of misconduct against Prince Andrew. He stated that a thorough and fair investigation will now take place, handled by the relevant authorities.

The King, 77, repeated his and Queen Camilla’s previous assurances of complete support for the authorities and their investigation. He emphasized that the legal process must be allowed to proceed without interference.
Charles stated he couldn’t share any more details about the ongoing investigation, but assured the public that he and his family remain dedicated to their responsibilities and service.

Oh my god, can you believe it? Prince Andrew – I mean, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, it just doesn’t sound right – was arrested on his 66th birthday! February 19th, can you imagine? They’re saying it’s something about behaving badly while he was working, misconduct in public office… it’s just awful, and honestly, a little shocking. I’ve followed him for years, and this is… a lot to take in.
The arrest happened while questions were resurfacing about Andrew’s connection to Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew maintains he has done nothing wrong.

Prince William and Princess Kate expressed their sympathy for the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse after a large number of documents related to his crimes were made public.
A spokesperson for The Prince and Princess of Wales said they are very worried about the ongoing reports and continue to think of those affected.

Marius Borg Høiby, the oldest son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit and stepson of Crown Prince Haakon, was arrested on February 1st for assault, threatening someone with a knife, and breaking a restraining order, according to a statement from Oslo police to the Associated Press.
The 29-year-old man, who isn’t a royal and doesn’t have any official responsibilities, will be held for up to four weeks due to concerns he might commit further crimes. An Oslo court approved the detention, and his lawyer, Petar Sekulic, says they are thinking about challenging the decision.
Høiby is scheduled to appear in court on February 3rd to face charges related to four alleged rapes that occurred between 2018 and 2024, along with accusations of domestic violence and violating a protective order.
In a statement to the Associated Press, his lawyers said Høiby denies all accusations of sexual abuse and most of the claims involving violence.

Flora Vesterberg, whose grandmother is Princess Alexandra (a cousin of Queen Elizabeth II), has announced she is expecting her first child with her husband, Timothy Vesterberg.
She announced on Instagram on January 19th that she and Timothy are expecting their first child, saying they are “over the moon” with excitement.

Prince Harry began a trial in London’s High Court on January 19th, taking on Associated Newspapers – the company behind the Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday, and Mail Online. He alleges the media group used unethical methods to gather news.
Several other celebrities, including Elton John, Elizabeth Hurley, and Sadie Frost, are also involved in the lawsuit against the publishing company.
Associated Newspapers has “vigorously denied” the claims, according to the BBC.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle marked their tenth anniversary as a couple by releasing a sweet, black and white video showing them dancing together at home.
The couple shared a sweet video set to Olivia Dean’s song “So Easy (To Fall In Love),” and revealed it was filmed by their 4-year-old daughter, Lilibet. Meghan, who also shares 6-year-old son Archie with Harry, gave credit to their daughter in the caption of the January 16th Instagram post, simply writing “cred: our daughter.”
The couple shared an old photo from when they first started dating. It showed them hugging during a trip outdoors, and it was really cute!
“When 2026 feels just like 2016….,” Meghan wrote in the caption. “You had to be there.”

I was so saddened to hear the news that Queen Sofia of Spain’s sister passed away earlier this week at the age of 83. The Greek royal family shared the announcement, and it’s a difficult time for them, of course. It’s always so touching when we hear about family losses, even within royal circles.
The Greek Royal Family announced with great sadness that Princess Irene passed away on Thursday, January 15th, 2026, at 11:40 AM local time in Madrid. She was surrounded by family at the Zarzuela Palace. She was a beloved sister and aunt.
The funeral for her took place on January 19th at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Athens, and she was buried at the Royal Cemetery of Tatoi.

On her 44th birthday, the Princess of Wales shared a message on the power of nature to heal.
In a recent video, Kate reflected on winter’s ability to bring peace and introspection. She described how the season’s quiet stillness allows us to slow down, look inward, and connect with both ourselves and the natural world, much like seeing our reflection in a calm stream.
Honestly, listening to her talk just… gets me. She said something about feeling so incredibly grateful, and it hit me so hard. She described this feeling of letting go – like all your worries just wash away with the rivers inside you. It’s about accepting your sadness, really feeling it, and somehow finding peace in it. She talked about connecting with nature, letting it soothe you and remind you of everything. It’s like nature is this gentle guide, helping you heal and remember what it truly means to live. It’s… beautiful, honestly. It just resonates so deeply.

Princess Catherine made her first public appearance of 2026, joining Prince William at London’s Charing Cross Hospital. The visit was a show of support for healthcare workers and came nearly a year after she shared the news that her cancer was in remission.
