Princess Charlotte Channels Princess Diana In Royal Family Outing

Princess Charlotte is stepping into some very big shoes.

Ten-year-old Princess Charlotte accompanied her parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, and her brothers, twelve-year-old Prince George and seven-year-old Prince Louis, to the Together At Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey in London on December 5th. Her outfit was reminiscent of her late grandmother, Princess Diana.

I was absolutely captivated by Princess Charlotte’s outfit during the recent royal appearance! She wore a beautiful navy velvet dress with a sweet white collar, paired with navy tights and dark flats. It instantly reminded me of a stunning look Princess Diana wore back in 1981 – a similar navy dress to a dinner at the Royal Festival Hall. It was such a lovely tribute, and a really touching moment for those of us who remember Diana!

The special event, broadcast in the U.K. on Christmas Eve, included several royal family members in attendance. These included Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall. Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, were also there, along with her brother James Middleton and his wife Alizée Thevenet.

The event attracted stars like Hannah Waddingham and Eugene Levy, who spoke with Kate, 43, inside the church. Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor also attended, each performing a reading during the service.

Those attending the event also received a personal letter from Princess Catherine, who has led the yearly service since 2021. In it, she shared thoughts on celebrating the connections – both obvious and unseen – that bring us together during the holidays.

Honestly, when Kate said that, it just hit me. Even with all the usual holiday craziness, she’s so right – there’s this underlying feeling, like everything suddenly has a little more meaning. It’s like the season reminds you that the little things do matter, you know? What you say, how you treat people, even just being kind – it all creates this ripple effect, touching people you’ll never even know. It’s beautiful, and I think she totally nailed it. I’ve been thinking about it all day!
