Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s daughter is a pitch perfect princess.
Ten-year-old Princess Charlotte surprised viewers with a musical performance during the ITV holiday special, Royal Carols: Together at Christmas, on December 24th, appearing alongside her mother, the Princess of Wales.
In a touching performance described as “a special duet” by Kensington Palace, the Princess of Wales and her daughter played “Holm Sound” together on the piano. The piece was composed by Erland Cooper.
Kate, who is also mother to Prince George, 12, and Prince Louis, 7, looked elegant in a green dress for the Christmas broadcast. Her daughter smiled sweetly in a navy sweater and plaid skirt for the TV special.
In addition to playing the tune, Kate also gave an emotional message in a narration over the song.
Christmas, at its core, is about love expressed through small, everyday acts of kindness. It’s not about big, showy displays, but about simple things like truly listening to someone, offering a comforting word, having a friendly chat, or lending a helping hand. These small gestures may seem insignificant, but they build the beautiful connections that make up our lives.
She shared that Christmas always highlights how connected we all are. Especially when things feel chaotic or unclear, the holiday season encourages us to be kind, understanding, and hopeful towards each other. This carol service is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community, celebrate helping others, and recognize the relationships that bind us, both seen and unseen.
Kate, who announced she’s cancer-free earlier this year, shared her thanks to everyone who has shown kindness and support to others.
As the year ends, I wish you a peaceful and clear holiday season, filled with the same love and care you give to others. Thank you for your warmth, kindness, and for always being a positive light in the lives of those around you. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
In the video, Charlotte didn’t say anything, but she was seen laughing with her mother while they played the piano together in a beautifully decorated hallway with a Christmas tree.
But playing the musical instrument isn’t her only surprising skill. She can also mimic celebrity voices – a talent she seems to share with Queen Elizabeth II – which demonstrates her passion for performing.
Royal author Phil Dampier revealed last year that Charlotte seems to have inherited a talent from the late Queen – the ability to perfectly imitate people. He believes this skill will be especially useful during the royal family’s traditional Christmas Eve charades game at Sandringham.

Charlotte is a big fan of Taylor Swift and was thrilled to see her perform live at the Eras Tour in London last year with William and George.
Charlotte even crafted a friendship bracelet reading “Papa” for the Prince of Wales.
My daughter made a bracelet from a keepsake she got at a Taylor Swift concert and gave it to me as a gift,” William explained at the Earthshot Prize Awards in November 2024, according to People magazine.
He explained that he was making sure to keep her gift safe during his trip to South Africa, promising he’d wear it and wouldn’t misplace it while he was there.
