Priscilla’s Cailee Spaeny Addresses Jacob Elordi Dating Rumors

Cailee Spaeney is adding a little more to the conversation about Jacob Elordi.

The actress addressed speculation about her relationship with her Priscilla co-star, Jacob, after a photo of them doing karaoke appeared on his phone’s wallpaper, sparking romance rumors.

During a December 9th appearance on Today, Cailee described the night as “great,” adding that the person being celebrated is a close friend and she’s very proud of him.

The 27-year-old explained how the photo came about: he visited London while she was already there, and they celebrated by going to karaoke – likely singing Shakira, like people often do.

Indeed, the Knives Out: Wake Up Dead Man actress and the Euphoria star had a good reason to party.

She said they were still thrilled about his amazing work in Frankenstein. He’d just received two Golden Globe nominations – one for Frankenstein and another for his series, Narrow Road to the Deep North – and she couldn’t be prouder.

On the November 6th episode of the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, Jacob shared a fun story about what’s behind him – literally! When host Josh Horowitz asked about his wallpaper, Jacob excitedly showed everyone a picture on his phone.

You know, I recently shared that my current phone wallpaper is a photo of me with the incredibly talented Cailee Spaeny, who you might recognize from Priscilla. And honestly, I couldn’t agree more with Josh when he said he absolutely adores her – she’s fantastic!

Jacob echoed the sentiment, noting, “I love her. What a performer.”

Cailee and Jacob, both 28, acted together in the 2023 movie about Priscilla Presley’s relationship with Elvis Presley. Cailee later enthusiastically praised their collaboration while filming.

She explained to TopMob News in November 2023 that his dedication is clear in every performance. She added that they share a similar strong work ethic, which is a great comfort. While all actors approach roles uniquely, she appreciates their shared commitment.

She explained that they quickly connected because they both shared a passionate, detail-oriented approach to their work. They made an effort to build a strong rapport before filming even began, and she felt it was crucial that they fully trusted each other going into the project.

Emma Watson has revealed she had a childhood crush on her Harry Potter co-star, Tom Felton (who played Draco Malfoy). During the 20th anniversary reunion special, she admitted to falling in love with him while filming Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. She used to check the daily call sheet for his name (number 7) and get excited when he was scheduled to be on set. While he saw her more like a little sister, fans quickly started hoping for a real-life romance after the special aired. However, Emma clarified in an interview with British Vogue that they remain close friends, speaking weekly, and find the fan speculation “sweet.”

Remember how Ross and Rachel seemed like they could have been a couple in real life? During the Friends reunion on HBO Max, Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer – the actors who played them – revealed there was a mutual attraction during the show’s first season. David explained that they both had crushes on each other, but timing never worked out because one of them was always dating someone else. They always respected those boundaries. Jennifer recalled joking with David that it would be awkward if their first kiss happened on national television – and that’s exactly what happened, in the coffee shop! Instead of pursuing a real-life romance, they focused all their affection into their characters, Ross and Rachel.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve rarely seen a more beloved pairing than Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet! Ever since Titanic premiered in 1996 – yes, even with that whole ‘door’ debate – people have been rooting for them to be together. But beyond any romance, they’ve built a truly incredible friendship. Kate herself said last year they’re ‘bonded for life,’ and honestly, you can feel it. Think back to the 1998 Golden Globes, or Leo cheering Kate on during her moving speech in 2009 – their connection has clearly deepened over the years, and it’s just beautiful to witness. It’s a friendship that’s truly sailed through the decades, iceberg and all!

The strong connection between the actors in the 2019 film A Star Is Born and their public appearances together led many fans to overlook the fact that both were in other relationships at the time: Bradley Cooper with Irina Shayk and Lady Gaga with Christian Carano. Despite this, Gaga openly shared that she felt an immediate and strong connection with Cooper from the moment they met. This closeness was particularly evident during their memorable performance of their Oscar-winning song, “Shallow,” at the 2019 Oscars, which happened shortly after Gaga ended her engagement.

Following their performance, Lady Gaga quickly dismissed rumors of a romance with Bradley Cooper, playfully telling Jimmy Kimmel that they intentionally created the impression of a connection. Cooper, who later split from Irina Shayk that year, didn’t directly address the speculation until November 2021, when he told The Hollywood Reporter that their performance was acted. He explained that their characters in the film were falling in love during that scene, and the passionate moment on stage in front of a large audience would have felt awkward if it hadn’t been part of the performance.

For decades, rumors have circulated about a possible romance between Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock after they starred together in the 1994 film Speed. However, Sandra has consistently denied they were ever a couple. In an interview with Esquire, she playfully responded to the rumors, saying, “Nope…but who knows?” She explained that Keanu is the kind of person who remains friends with everyone he dates, and she admires him greatly. She wondered if they could have made it work, but ultimately said they never needed to, and have instead enjoyed a long-lasting, supportive friendship.

Sandra and Keanu also starred together in the 2006 film The Lake House, and remain close friends. She particularly appreciates his ability to listen. She recalled a story from about a year after filming Speed, when she casually mentioned she’d never tried champagne and truffles. A few days later, Keanu surprised her by personally delivering champagne, truffles, and flowers, simply saying he thought she might like to try them.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always been fascinated by on-screen chemistry, and Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone definitely have it! Fans absolutely adore them as a couple – they’ve played romantic leads in three films together, including the beloved La La Land. While they’ve never been a couple in real life, their professional connection is incredibly strong. I remember when Emma spoke at the 2018 Telluride Film Festival, and she beautifully shared how much Ryan means to her, saying he’s a ‘dear, wonderful friend’ and that she ‘can’t even imagine what my life would be without Ryan.’ It was really touching! Before La La Land came out, she playfully joked about doing so many movies with him, saying he’d probably had to get a restraining order! But seriously, Ryan has said working with Emma is fantastic because they bring out the best in each other – that established comfort and understanding just makes their performances even more special.

Jim and Pam are one of television’s most popular couples, and fans followed their romance throughout the nine seasons of The Office. Despite the strong chemistry between their characters, actors John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer never became romantically involved in real life.

Jenna Fischer once explained that a part of her felt a genuine connection with John, mirroring the love between Pam and Jim. However, she clarified that they weren’t a perfect match outside of the show, but shared a close, partner-like bond.

John Krasinski later addressed Jenna’s comments, stating that he felt her words were taken out of context and he regretted the resulting headlines. He emphasized how honored they both were to portray such a beloved relationship.

Their iconic connection will always be remembered by fans.

Lady Gaga isn’t the first actress Bradley Cooper has been rumored to be romantically involved with. His chemistry with Jennifer Lawrence in films like Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle led to speculation for years.

Back in 2015, Howard Stern even directly asked Bradley, “When are you two gonna have sex? Everyone is waiting for that.” Bradley immediately shut it down, saying, “Never. It’s just not the way we are together.”

Similarly, at the 2013 Golden Globes, when Entertainment Tonight asked if he and Jennifer were dating, Bradley jokingly replied, “Oh my god. That’s very funny. No, my God, no.”

Despite their chemistry in the 2006 movie How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson never dated in real life, even though many fans hoped they would. In a 2020 interview with Howard Stern, Matthew explained that he generally avoids dating costars, preferring to keep things professional. He admitted there might have been some mutual crushes over the years, but they always maintained a professional relationship.

And with that, the chance for their love to blossom died, just like that love fern.

These top-tier friends have amazing chemistry on screen – think Ocean’s Eleven! – and that connection extends to their real lives, but it’s strictly a close friendship. You can see how much fun they have in interviews, and George Clooney has even generously shared his Lake Como home with the Roberts-Moder family for anniversary trips. It’s a testament to their enduring bond!

Every New Year’s Eve, people often speculate about whether best friends and CNN’s Live From Times Square co-hosts, Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper, have ever been more than just friends.

During an interview on Howard Stern’s radio show, Andy was asked why he and Anderson haven’t dated. He explained that their relationship is simply a strong friendship, and they’ve known each other for so long that romantic attraction isn’t part of the equation.

Ironically, the two were originally set up on a blind date over 25 years ago.

Anderson recalled on The Tonight Show in 2017 that when straight friends try to match up two gay men, they often suggest they meet. However, Anderson said he knew within the first 45 seconds of a phone call to arrange the date that he wouldn’t be going out with Andy.

He explained that Andy immediately broke a key dating rule when it came to Anderson: he asked about Anderson’s mother, Gloria Vanderbilt.

Andy jokingly admitted he was excited about the prospect of dating someone from the Vanderbilt family!

Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt enjoyed working together on their 2009 film, 500 Days of Summer. However, Joseph later admitted in a 2012 Playboy interview that dating Zooey, who was also a long-time friend, would have been awkward. He said they both found it amusing that fans wanted them to be a couple, noting they’d been friends for a decade.

Oh my gosh, before Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens were officially a thing, everyone thought he was into Ashley Tisdale! I mean, they were best friends, and he was her love interest on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody – it was everywhere! Even now, they’re still super close, she calls him her ‘brother/best friend,’ which is adorable. But get this – she actually said he was her worst onscreen kiss! Can you believe it? She explained it was because they were so close, like siblings, and he was used to the CW’s style while they were on Disney Channel. Apparently, he went for it – like, with his tongue! She totally shut it down, telling him to back off because it was Disney Channel and they didn’t do that on Disney Channel. She said it was just weird kissing someone you’ve known for years and already made a movie with. It’s just…too close, you know? I’ve re-read that Elle interview a million times, it’s just the cutest and most awkward thing ever!

Though their characters, Chad and Taylor, were a couple in High School Musical, Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman remained close friends after leaving the Disney franchise. They recently shared the screen again in the 2021 Lifetime Christmas movie, A Christmas Dance Reunion. Corbin shared on Instagram that working with Monique after 13 years felt like reconnecting with family, and that starring in a Lifetime Christmas movie had always been a dream—especially alongside a friend. Monique also expressed hope for future collaborations, telling People magazine that she and Corbin have a special on-screen chemistry, similar to iconic movie couples like Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, or Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. She believes they have the potential for a similar successful partnership and would love to explore that.

Despite portraying one of television’s most famous on-again, off-again couples in The X-Files, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reportedly didn’t get along during filming. In a 2008 interview with Metro UK, David explained that they frequently argued during the show’s first eight seasons, simply because they grew tired of each other’s presence. He clarified it wasn’t personal, saying, “We used to argue about nothing. We couldn’t stand the sight of each other.”

Despite their on-set tension, fans continued to root for their characters, Mulder and Scully, to become a couple in real life. A photo from a lunch date they had in May 2021 went viral, which David found amusing. He told People that Gillian suggested they take a picture, and he was surprised by the enthusiastic reaction it received online. He admitted he doesn’t usually pay attention to such things but was pleased to see people were still interested in their connection after so many years.

Fans who hope for a romantic connection between Avengers co-stars Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans might be disappointed! Despite appearing in eight films together since their first project in 2004, they’ve never dated in real life. However, they’ve become very close over the years. In a March 2020 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Scarlett explained that their on-screen chemistry comes from a decade of friendship and a deep understanding of each other.
