With Ryan Gosling currently filming the new Star Wars movie, the trailer for his other sci-fi film, Project Hail Mary, has just been released, giving us a first look.

What’s the Project Hail Mary about?

Ryland Grace, a science teacher played by Ryan Gosling, finds himself on a spaceship far from Earth with complete amnesia. As his memories return, he discovers he’s on a critical mission: to figure out why the sun is fading and save Earth from destruction. Using his scientific expertise and some unconventional thinking, he tries to solve the mystery, and he might just get help from an unlikely friend along the way.

Who is starring in the Project Hail Mary trailer?

Sandra Hüller joins Ryan Gosling—the filmmakers’ only choice for the role, and signed on after acquiring the book rights in 2021—in her first American film. The cast also includes Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, and Milana Vayntrub.

Behind the scenes….

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller co-directed this film, their first project together since the troubled 2018 Star Wars movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story. The script was written by Drew Goddard, and is based on a novel by Andy Weir, who sold the film rights to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer for $3 million in early 2020.
