The working title for the free-to-play action RPG known as Project Pantheon has been revealed to be Gods, Death & Reapers. This game is under development by Wolcen Studio and will initially be available on PC via Steam.
At Gamescom 2025, game director Andrei Chirculete announced that they are now ready to unveil the official name and gameplay of their project, initially known as ‘Gods, Death & Reaper.’ He described the game as an innovative blend of extraction games and top-down action RPGs, born from a single intriguing concept: what if you could play an action RPG styled extraction game? Excited to receive feedback from players, Andrei shared that their insights will be instrumental in refining the game during the upcoming Closed Alpha tests.
Death Welcomes All
Gods, Death & Reapers” is a no-cost ExtraAction RPG that immerses players into a grim afterlife where mythological entities are actualized. The game initiates in Norse folklore, with Death himself selecting the players to aid in reestablishing balance to realms disrupted by the absence of gods.
The sanctuary serves as a secret hideout for the players, where they get their equipment ready before venturing into treacherous combat zones. Each expedition comes with its own set of risks: overpowering deadly adversaries, surviving player-versus-player-versus-environment conflicts, and making it out alive with loot. However, the risks are significant: if a player dies, all carried items will be forfeit. Only successful withdrawals yield rewards, which can then be exchanged among other players.
Going beyond the Extraction mode, exciting new gameplay options lie ahead! Wolcen is working to incorporate a fresh single-player storyline and introduce cooperative multiplayer missions against environments. In these scenarios, players will have the opportunity to team up, splitting both the dangers and the rewards with a friend.
