Beethoven & Dinosaur, the studio behind The Artful Escape, has announced that their next PlayStation 5 game, Mixtape, will now be released in 2026.

The team behind Artful Escape recently shared a fun detail about their work process. One of their 3D artists, Mikey, created a remarkably detailed oven – complete with knobs! – as part of the game’s development. They see this attention to detail as representative of their studio, Beethoven & Dinosaur, and their commitment to polishing every aspect of their games. They’re now finishing up their next project, Mixtape, and are in the final stages of refinement – ‘putting the knobs on,’ as they put it – with a planned release in 2026.

An unusual method of confirming a delay into next year, but that puts PS5 title Mixtape into 2026.

Mixtape tells the story of three friends on their last night together, going on one final adventure. The game is presented as a playable mixtape, filled with memories and set to music from a classic era.

As three friends drive to one last party, a carefully chosen playlist unlocks shared memories, letting them relive key moments from their past. The game features a series of short stories that explore what made these friends who they are today. Players will experience the ups and downs of being a teenager through fun and varied gameplay – skateboarding, flying, sneaking around an old amusement park, playing baseball, and even setting off fireworks from a car. It’s a nostalgic journey filled with all the iconic moments of growing up, like first kisses and final dances.
